That's a shocking on field decision! Going miles down leg!

Well bad anyway.

I'd be willing to take a decent risk to win or lose the series v draw, but it's not nothing.

Without the weather you’d say England are in position A here. Could easily be looking to get past Aussies today. Bat couple of hours tomorrow. Put them back in. Final day chase of whatever they manage to set.

But cos of the weather forecast the Aussies will be happier right now. Can we not just get a roof on?

Yeah - that's pragmatic and fairly sure that's what they're doing. I think there might be too much focus being put on "win or die trying" to mean "just be fcuking dumb if necessary"... :-)

Yep agreed. Think they've done very well all series when the Aussies spread the field at taking the ones and twos and being positive that way.

Just hasn't quite translated into many big scores yet. Could do with that changing now.

Nah there's definitely a difference between "losing" them and them retaining them after a drawn series.
Not in my view. You either win or you don’t.

Stokes and this team will rightly go for it. They’ve just not left themselves enough time sadly.
You're such a tonic. Between your weather forecast and lose prophesy, we might as well hand the ashes over now (yeah, I know, they already have them). Here's hoping you have to eat your words... :oyea:

Some good news TD. If I put a really bright spin on it, we can't lose the Ashes because we're not in possession of them so it's not possible!

Classic Zak. Shanks one over the slips for a streaky 4 then nails the next one with a perfect drive down the ground...

Typical this. England completely dominant. Aussies shelling catches. In a test that won’t finish. Take weather away I’d really fancy us for the 3-2 right now. They look like they might mentally be struggling.

Gah Mo had been leading a charmed life. Great catch from Khawaja after Cummins missed a much easier (if not a gimme).

Edit: FFS insane!

Yeah - not an indecent knock - if somewhat lucky.

Yes Zak! Again a bit streaky but they're taking risks. Superb. Go big now!

^^ You've been telling us we're getting murdered for most of the series! Decent intelligent attacking cricket at the moment.

It’s the same cricket they’ve played all series. Had a touch of luck and Aussies look a bit physically and mentally off.

But Bazball is it. It’s the future.

Imagine this scenario where England could just bat them into the ground? Bat rest of today all or most of day three. Two days to bowl em out. Would be delicious.

Yeah, will be a real shame if rain ruins this! Think we're better off getting the runs now though. Looks a great pitch to bat on at the moment, use this time to get a big lead and then hope the rain hols off enough in grey hopping conditions to get them out again. Looks the only way we can win this for me. Not going to get them out again in these conditions. If the rain beats you, fine nothing else you could do. Going to be tough to win it batting twice unless the weather holds or it's a very small target.

Great session for us there. I did risk a peek at the Met Office....There are "chances" over the next three days...tomorrow there's between a 40% and 10% chance of rain (hour by hour) - Saturday much higher, Sunday back down to 40%..I guess this might come down to "how much"...
