Re: Pre-season 2023-24
Hope that is for B team. Be massively, massively underwhelming if he was seriously considered an option for the first team. To go from talking about the sort of players we are targeting to signing Mathewson would not signal the club is really pushing for promotion. RWB is such a key position and clearly was a big priority to bring in real quality.

It is for the B team. That’s why he was trialing for the B team. But it’s the kind of promising kid who’s fallen off the conveyor belt that we should be investigating. Can’t hurt to look.

I would take some comfort in that it was a trial for the B’s! Lads clearly lost his way and if he signs let’s hope it works out.

Who is Luke Matheson?

Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill!

Ex-Rochdale midget who has been in the Wolves youth system for the past few years, but seemingly hasn't kicked on enough to merit first team opportunities at that level.

I thought the same initially, but the indication is that he has a number of offers in League Two. If that's correct it'd be odd for him to take a B Team deal.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Wed Jul 19, 2023 8:45 amIt is for the B team. That’s why he was trialing for the B team. Also someone mentioned that he's been training with the first team for a few days.
It'll be interesting to see if he plays at Salford or Colls at the weekend.

Ah, interesting. Well, armed with this knowledge I will accept that I may be wrong. Feel free to therefore bar me from the internetGhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Wed Jul 19, 2023 8:57 amI thought the same initially, but the indication is that he has a number of offers in League Two. I don't think he'd be an exciting signing for the first team. but he'd be an amazing get for the Bs and show massive growth there.
We are all just guessing at this stage.
Re: Pre-season 2023-24
This lad Trevon Bryan seems to have made a good start to his time here. Given he only turned 18 this year, hopefully he's one that might have a shot at breaking into our first team down the line.
Re: Pre-season 2023-24
It's looking increasingly more likely that we've got players that can start to break through. Carty, Khumbeni, Lockett, Bryan...
Less so the defenders but the optimism seems to be increasing...
Maybe we should offer out Khumbeni to Barrow. Certainly seemed a step up from Tom White.

Apparently he's scored.
Be a decent 1st team addition this lad.

Perhaps, but why's he playing for the B team?

Re: Pre-season 2023-24
Barring a a couple who need minutes, feels like the fringe players play 60/70 minutes today while the firsts are “saved” for Tuesday.

JDB limps off with an injury that doesn’t look great at all.
