BBC have 70% chance of rain every playable hour on Sunday.
Make of that what you will…

The same BBC that had us 18th AND 20th in the same league table. A weather forecast is likelihood, and to be honest they are often fairly wrong. It is going to be a bit wet, but it might not impact play as much as we fear, or it might. All we can do is try and skittle them asap when the opportunity presents...BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 9:44 pmBBC have 70% chance of rain every playable hour on Sunday.

Was an outside chance v the weather. Unless OT is in the middle of a cloud hole, I doubt an 11 start. I'm probably 8 miles away straight line...It might not dry for 11, if the rain stopped right now. Not ultra heavy, but there's been a lot of it.

Yeah, proper downer...It was similar for an outside party at ours, a month back. Fortunately, they revised from raining Thursday for a week, each day. In the event, the weeks worth started about 2 am on the Sunday...BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2023 10:17 amI notice simon king of bbc weather has said forecast hasn’t changed much and there is little chance of any play this weekend.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2023 9:05 amWas an outside chance v the weather. I'm even more miffed now, around where we had chances and didn't take them.

Looks like the Oz rain dance worked fine for them. So galling if the weather costs us a chance at taking the Ashes back.

Play at 2.45 if no more rain...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Often happens when the rain is around bowlers struggle to find rhythm and batters know they just have to dig in.
Shame.
Shame.

Hopefully a session tomorrow, but suspect the outfield getting cumulatively wetter...

Why are the M.C.C so religious about lunch times? Surely it makes sense to take it early to give more chance of play time instead of roast boar and peacock soup taking priority. Sometimes, even at Lords, tradition looks a bit jaded these days.

They're not, think I have this right, but to change from a scheduled break, both Umpires and likely more importantly both Captains have to agree to the move, as far as I know. Rain affected day 1 or 2, and things are typically easier to get agreement to a move. When it comes up and it would clearly favour one team over another, the disfavoured Captain usually says "No thanks."
