Indeed. The criticism of Jimmy has been utterly ridiculous. He went in off injury and was clearly just out of rhythm. His pace hasn’t dropped. His bowling has been just marginally short of taking wickets and has he not got injured in the summer he’d probably have a lot more. He’s still imho regardless of any stats easily in the team for a home test. Might be a different question in India though he’s found ways to do it abroad too of late.

It is not at all unfair, to point out that Jimmy currently has an average of 71. That's not ridiculous. it's factual. I wouldn't have picked him for this test. Neither would I be consigning him to the trash heap. He's a quality bowler.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Fri Jul 28, 2023 3:15 pmIndeed. The criticism of Jimmy has been utterly ridiculous. Gah. As close as you get. Smith thought he was out.

I love things like Steve Smith averages 100 at the Oval, but which England player averages more (Steve Harmison @ 131)

Glad to see the back of Smith...yesterday felt like we were a bit under par, but today probably shows it's another "fine margins" call
Edit. Murphy looks pretty comfortable pulling...this ain't intelligent bowling

That was a strange ultraedge..clear spike, but the ball looked past the edge when it popped up...
