Should we break out the conspiracy theories and say Dion got sent off so he didn't have to play Wigan and risk messing up his transfer?

Yeah, why not. Has Santos gone yet?GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2023 10:07 pmShould we break out the conspiracy theories and say Dion got sent off so he didn't have to play Wigan and risk messing up his transfer?

Went weeks ago. We're in massive trouble when people realise it's Lofty wearing an OJ Simpson mask and Santos now plays for Porto.

Evatt was sent off because he wanted Thomason to leave.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2023 10:07 pmShould we break out the conspiracy theories and say Dion got sent off so he didn't have to play Wigan and risk messing up his transfer?

Watford and Stoke interested in Charles, apparently. I love a good conspiracy! Did I read someone saying the Stoke manager was watching the Fleetwood game? You wouldn't want to get sent off if you wanted a move to Stoke, would you? Unless you're just showing everyone you're unhappy where you are... or it's a coincidence. Hopefully a coincidence!GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2023 10:07 pmShould we break out the conspiracy theories and say Dion got sent off so he didn't have to play Wigan and risk messing up his transfer?
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

All but tangentially irrelevant RWB update: Fantaky Dabo training with Charlton, per Nixon. Mind, he was 'linked' with them in early July, so they're all taking their time.
Oh and if we really feel we're short of an attacking RWB, Lloyd Isgrove's still free. JSL.

.
Wonder if we'll cast an eye over anyone. RWB Yiadom has always struck me as a player who'd suit Evatt's system; 31, though, so it would be a short-term solution. (Interesting that Derby are linked, despite already having grabbed Posh's Joe Ward and Krocked Kane Wilson.)

Be interesting to see how things go with Warne and Derby. I hadn't realised how poor a run of form they've been on. Natives getting restless on Twitter. How long will the board continue to back more signings?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Fri Aug 18, 2023 12:53 pm.

Either way, a bit of cover at RWB wouldn't go amiss...

Andy Yiadom would be very expensive cover, you'd imagine.
He'd be a good player for any League One side, but I'm not sure he'd fit into the way we're building our squad.

Yeah this. Absolutely would be a good addition. But I mean I can’t for one second imagine we sign a 31 year old on the sort of money he will be on. Not one like him at least. A Kieran Lee type I could see who just wants to come and play.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Fri Aug 18, 2023 5:31 pmAndy Yiadom would be very expensive cover, you'd imagine.

Problem is a Kieran Lee type would probably be too old and knackered to be playing RWBBWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Fri Aug 18, 2023 6:28 pmYeah this. Absolutely would be a good addition. The transfer window is still open, of course, but it does surprise me how little depth we have in such a pivotal position.
I appreciate it's probably a very difficult posiotion to recruit for, mind.

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window
So it’s basically a very busy week and a bit left for Evatt.
Ideal world for me…
In
Combative experienced midfield dynamo
Striker who isn’t utterly useless
A flying wing back - ideally who could cover either side
A number 8 who can run all day long and move the ball quickly
Out
Declan John
Kieran Sadlier
Aaron Morley
Dan Portaloo
Ideal world isn’t going to happen but that for me is where I think we are at.
I suspect it will be the midfield player who doesn’t hide from a fight and a rwb. That’s bare minimum and is the two players Iles said he believed Evatt wanted three weeks ago. But it’s no longer ‘nice to have’.

With the group of players there is at the moment, after having sat through the Wigan game, I'd want all new players to be combative. And start handing out protein shakes and gym passes, maybe.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the build/stature / just the desire yesterday…

I'm not envisaging 4 first team starters heading through the doors. Last he uttered was maybe four or five, since which he signed 4...
