No Gooseberries at Shrewbury. Away to Shrewsbury Tuesday 7th Nov 7-45.

Where fellow sufferers gather to share the pain, longing and unrequited transfer requests that make being a Wanderer what it is...

Our play is far too slow against a team like this. Have to move it quicker and when we get any space drive into it. All too slow and laboured.

This reminds me of those 'park the bus' tactics of Morecambe a few seasons back. Just happy to frustrate us rather than stretch themselves to beat us.

Simple passes ffs.

All the space on the left on two occasions and it's been overhit twice.

Allergic to putting the ball in the box or running and committing their man. Both things are the ways to crack a nut like Shrewsbury. This sideways tippy tappy nonsense isn’t going to work.

Zero shots on target for both sides. Pretty poor that.

Feels like we need to be considerably sharper than we have been. Tempo seems sluggish and we're not as clinical as we need to be.

The tippy tappy stuff may have a chance of working if we weren't overhitting the ball to our forward runners. Slippy surface perhaps?

As for the zero shots on target from both sides, yeah its been pretty dire.

Back to Toal, hit long, hit too short for strikers, lose possession. Hit into Vic or Dion, bounces into centre circle, lose possession. “An intriguing affair”.

Playing very safe and I suppose that’s not always a bad thing, but their left side has provided some joy, if we looked composed and hungry enough to exploit it.

Not the most entertaining 45. Has a "one of those nights" vibe. Maghoma has hit a few passes...

A game very low on entertainment, but I’d say our performance has been slightly sluggish rather than awful.

I’m not hugely concerned yet. We’ve got the personnel out there to play much better second half and take all three points.

Based on second half results this season we’d be 19th. Our second halves have been atrocious thus far. Time to change that tonight.

How is that a foul?

Dion steps in and the lad kicks his foot?

Gonna say it, our wingers have been bobbins tonight. Is that them or the Shrewsbury defence?

Christ we need some changes here as this is dire and going downhill rapidly. Gomes and Bod for me. The fridge and one of the wing backs off.

They have. It looks a bit of both, doesn’t it. Short passes and through balls not making their target. No crosses to speak of, but no room in behind with the languor of our play.

Vic has been absolutely nowhere for the majority of the game. Need somebod to make it stick.

Maybe its a case for Matheson's inclusion on the bench.

Can't see how we benefit from having Bodvarsson, Jerome and N'lundulu on the bench and omit a wide option.

Sure we can repurpose Jones at times or have Iredale play wide, but neither are naturally wingers from what I can tell.

I'd missed 15 mins of the 2nd half. Anyone scored? Disallowed?

Well I'm stuck in a hotel room in Newcastle. For what it's worth I'll put the room kettle on but it's a cheap and nasty one. Don't blame me if it makes a crap brew.

And the key to a result is a good :kettle:
