We'll shit em.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 8:03 pmCripes. Well, Everton might be a decent payday, and Dyche might be in concentrate-on-the-league mode. And it's not unwinnable... but we have another job on first.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 8:00 pmPalace or Everton away should we manage to win the replay.
Re: F.A.Cup...V Luton away Sun, 7th Jan 2-0'clock.
Yikes, more Premier League opposition.
Everton (A) is probably the more favourable of the two. Bigger ground, more money, closer, etc.
I'm relative confident we can compete with Everton, less so with Crystal Palace as I think their trickiness may catch us out a bit more.
We came unstuck against Championship opposition in Middlesbrough in the League Cup, so going out to Premiership opposition will be no real shame. Better to make it an enjoyable day and give a good account of ourselves.
I think the main thing is keeping the FA Cup payday going and presumably Everton (A) in their last season at Goodison may just be a showpiece that gets selected for TV.
Blackburn v Wrexham
WBA v Wolves
Leicester v Birmingham
Chelsea v Villa
Spurs v Man City
Newport/Eastleigh v Wigan/ManUtd
There's a few games in there that we're competing against. Probably those making the decisions are probably left wondering who comes out on top before they decide.

Would be delighted with Everton away if we beat Luton.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 8:00 pmPalace or Everton away should we manage to win the replay.

Whereas a SE London type like myself would much prefer Palace
Mind you, not having had a sniff of tickets for Luton or Orient, it might be moot.

Aye, I’m with you here, Tone. Think we’d be alright getting tickets for Palace, mind.TonyDomingos wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 8:36 pmGhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 8:26 pmWould be delighted with Everton away if we beat Luton.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 8:00 pmPalace or Everton away should we manage to win the replay.

We’re away for the replay but there is phone reception on the beach so I’ll be on the beach at 6:45AM listening to waves as well as watching us beat Luton Town !

Replay confirmed for the Tuesday. £20 tickets. No chance of a sell-out. And there's no TV coverage.

On the one hand there's a clear chance for us to get a load of money prior to the transfer window closing. Any additional ticket sales here is just a bonus and could be used for kicking us on a touch.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2024 4:01 pmReplay confirmed for the Tuesday. £20 tickets. On the other hand, its the club being greedy, in a month where many are struggling with finances due to it being the month after Christmas.
I'd much prefer us to have the seats cheaper and get more people in, but that doesn't look like its going to be the case.

Stupid pricing. A real shame.
Re: F.A.Cup...V Luton away Sun, 7th Jan 2-0'clock.
Really don’t get the logic behind that.
Re: F.A.Cup...V Luton away Sun, 7th Jan 2-0'clock.
No TV cash to subsidise £10 seats.
If people want to watch it then they're going to have to go to the game as far as there are no TV channels showing the game.

Yes and we have to split the money with Luton AND AND Luton have to agree to our pricing model.
However, we could have priced it better or run bonus schemes like "kids for a quid" or "bring a mate for a fiver".
The primary aim should have been to pack the ground. It's not.

I'd think we'll probably be looking at 7 to 8,000 at that price range.

Don't think first bit is correct, Luton only get a say if we try to charge them more than home fans...otherwise up to us as long as it's at least a tenner (excluding concessions)GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2024 7:24 pmYes and we have to split the money with Luton AND AND Luton have to agree to our pricing model.

I believe we have to give Luton a sign-off, or we used to have to. May no longer be the case. You could well be right that it's within a certain range, though. Not my area.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2024 10:42 pmDon't think first bit is correct, Luton only get a say if we try to charge them more than home fans...otherwise up to us as long as it's at least a tenner (excluding concessions)

Think it changed in 2019, so as long as we're not charging them more, we're good to go.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2024 10:48 pmI believe we have to give Luton a sign-off, or we used to have to. Used to be just for the cup. Only the host had a say in their league pricing, other than any league regs themselves.
