Yeah but he was their number 8 last season and played defensive mid, Centre mid and number 10 roles in more or less equal amounts and up front about as much as those combined.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2024 10:37 amI dunno. Arguably, our best two with back to goal and ball in the air - DadBod and Jerome - have both departed. None of the rest are particularly auspicious, I wouldn't be too unhappy if he was a forward and had some of thst in his locker, but don't recall ever seeing him play...
It just wouldn’t be where I’d look for a striker. If he’s a midfield option I think it makes sense. Different sort to Maghima but arguably more ready to score goals from midfield at this level.

Yeah of games he started last season 18 or so were played in midfield. A handful on the right wing and then about 8 up front.
That’s his first season of league football. I think that’s a big risk if we primarily see him as a Centre forward. Given he was signed and given the number 8 last season. That’s all I’m saying.

Sure, mate - I might have to just make an internal adjustment from "forward" to "midfielder"

Randell Williams will miss the start of next season according to I.E. Lousy luck for us and him. It also appears I'E''s insistence he couldn't have done the Oxford game any differently is aimed at the players lack of will to win. Just comments.

Seen that TD thought the quote merited full viewing on the other thread, apologies for thunder stealing.
As for Randell I thought when fit he was good last season. It’s just that ‘when fit’ part with him isn’t it.

He'll probably miss a chunk of the middle and end as well. I like the bloke but he looks like a div 1 Anderton...TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 9:32 amRandell Williams will miss the start of next season according to I.E. Lousy luck for us and him. So we’ve gone from four LWB options to just Jack.

Would anyone be sad to see him go if we made a profit on him? Especially if we reinvested the money in the squad?

I have mixed feelIngs on Vic but if he goes we’ve only got Super Dan, a half-crocked Dion and possibly this new lad.

The latest rumour is that we've made (swiftly rejected) a six-figure offer for Posh's Joel Randall.
