Miles more enjoyable.
Weve actually looked like the England I expect to turn up

Agree with both comments.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2024 8:45 pmIf only we had a left sided player. I still think defensively we look vulnerable to a break.
Hope we see Shaw and Toney later on as I think they'll have some joy.
Re: Tonight's Football
Best 45 minutes under Southgate that. Make it count now.

Good 45. I was thinking Shaw and Toney.too. Not that Trippier's played particularly poorly but couple of decent positions for someone with a left foot.

We look a level above the Dutch. Confident. Terrified. Come on lads.
Nero fiddles while Gordon Burns.
Re: Tonight's Football
Plenty of reasons to be positive.
Agree with us looking vulnerable heading backwards. Thankfully they're left without too many people up top as we've stretched them.
If we go out today at least we've given it a go

And Luke Shaw's on! Southgate must be listening.

Gone poor this half. Dutch tightened up in midfield.
Re: Tonight's Football
The extra Dutch player in mid has helped kill the game.
Palmer on for Saka could open this up again.

Agreed. Why did Foden come off. Madness.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2024 9:35 pmI’d be taking Bellingham off. He’s offered little.

I will keep saying it but the centre of our midfield is dross. Absolute dross. It’s a shame. I think our best midfield is sat on the bench.

Wow. That is some goal from Watkins. World class.
Re: Tonight's Football
Take a bow Southgate. Miles better all around that.
Subs paid off. Questionable taking Foden off for me but it worked a treat.

Re: Tonight's Football
Twas never going to be easy. We got a coin-toss luck with the penalty, but a disallowed goal, a ball stopped on the line and a bit of woodwork bashing edged it. First half us, second them, but a great finishing goal and we're in the Final. Well done Gareth and the lads.

Re: Tonight's Football
Know this is after the event, but this was it in a nutshell for sentence 1. They were getting well beat. Spotted and changed by Koeman. Which also, whether coincidental or not, restricted Shaw.
We were poor with our "counter tactics" for the second 45, but fair play England and Southgate overall and I thought a great goal by Watkins. For me, every bit as good as last night's effort...
EIEIEIO.
Re: Tonight's Football
They're a decent side. Not a top level team, but by far the best team we've actually beat in a tournament, and we made them play like a midtable team away at the big boys. Depay went off and they threw a midfielder on to stiffen it up. You can still always lose but it's less likely. That was it. That again.
I can deal with it losing, but powder dry has always been my "no". One more.

Re: Tonight's Football
"CAPER DIEM" ...for me. I only ever support two teams, sport or genetics regardless, Bolton Wanderers and England. It's more than a bit demeaning to some good sides to talk of "easy half" of the draw; we beat what was in front of us and last night we beat a very good side. Yes, the Neds might well have deserved extra time, but "cometh the hour ", gave us Watkins and Palmer. Saka has grown into a giant, unafraid of taking on the good or the ruffians, and although we make mistakes, we fight like hell to scramble up the mountain. For whatever reason, I'm very proud of us, so I'm "seizing" today.
