Been following rom afar and a loss always hurts, but time and the game are moving on at lightning speed.

That big blond lad is some decent player. I've watched a couple of games and he stood out.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2024 7:54 pmWell done to the U20's winning the World series...deserved it too.

Re: Rugby Union
Not the right place, I know, but I've been watching the Rugby Sevens at the Olympics to pass time. Surprise of the night for me was to see Dupont, the icon of French Rugby Union, scoring the winning goal in a Seven's game.
Ireland threw it away by missing three conversion kicks that would have had them through.

7's is rugby mate! The Hong Kong 7's used to be a highlight. Fiji who were very decent last World Cup, used to be absolute terrors at international 7's (because it's easier to find 7 international class rugby players than 15.
Might catch some over the weekend.

Dupont, what can you say. An Olympic gold medal to just about every honour rugby has to offer. Hat off where it's due.

Egg chasing starts again tonight with Wales v France in Paris. Live on I.T.V.
Half-time update, Oh dear, Wales with a man in the sin bin and never looking like scoring. 28-0 down. Dupont like an electric mouse, running the show. It could get worse....

I've seen starter odds of 80/1 for England in Dublin. Jaysus. We're that bad. I'd be delighted with fourth...TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 8:07 pmEgg chasing starts again tonight with Wales v France in Paris. Live on I.T.V.![]()

Wales lose 43-0 to France. Can't say they didn't try but were totally out-played by Les Blues who were formidable, They got a couple of cards and changed six players at half-time, including Dupont.

Re: Rugby Union
Thank the Lord for that. Win against them and Italy and we could be 4th. At the "richest" rubgy nation in the Northern Hemisphere, it's pretty awful the last few years...TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 10:19 pmWales lose 43-0 to France. Re: Rugby Union
England-Ireland game kicks off on telly just as our Whites game finishes. Could get me in bit of bother with tea etc...

Not as close as the scoreline made out. France/Ireland is probably the decider...TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 11:56 amEngland-Ireland game kicks off on telly just as our Whites game finishes. Could get me in bit of bother with tea etc...![]()

Re: Rugby Union
Never expected to beat France, so chuffed to bits. Caught most of the game and it was a cracker.

Re: Rugby Union
Think Scotland will be saying the word "How?" A lot on the way home...I really don't understand why first half we thought it was a great idea to kick to them, knowing they like running it at us. Second half better, but you can't keep playing an 80 minute pressure absorb, every week...

We'd like to order a nil nil draw in France v Ireland and not to make a booby v Italy by thinking we've played "the harder teams."

Unreasonable to be looking for bonus points here?

Re: Rugby Union
There's a couple of ways that could go. One for scoring 4 or more tries and one for losing by less than 7 points! Scotland scored 5 tries, France scored 11, Wales just 2. Last year we won in Italy by 3 points and what we've been good at this year is making games against (probably) better teams very tight and we've edged them. Frankly, I'd be delighted with a win and more so by 4 tries and a BP.
