Welcome to Bolton. Wrexham (h), 18/08, 3pm

Where fellow sufferers gather to share the pain, longing and unrequited transfer requests that make being a Wanderer what it is...

Winning teams have a knack for continuing to win. Let's hope we derail that for them today.

Big fan of McElhenney but not in the mood for doing other clubs favours.

Will have to be on it from the get go. We'll likely be seen as a big club to beat so they'll be eager to get one over us. It's been since the 1980s since we last played them so it's been too long. I think it's the longest we've been since playing a club.

Ha if only. I'm hoping they do an episode covering how close they came to picking Bolton instead of Wrexham. Seems like a sliding doors moment that never happened.

Helo, croeso! ......That means "Hello, Welcome" in Welsh. I might be wrong but I think Tommy Banks used to say something similar when he deposited an opposition winger onto the cinder track at Burnden. Probably had "To Bowton" on the end of it.

I can't make the game today. Biggest home crowd since the Prem, is it? Glorious...

Wrexham are a good side and much better than the ones that went down last season, but we can't have a home opener as anything other than a win.

Wrexham will be massively up for this and we have to match that energy and drive. If we don't then people will have every right to ask questions.

Disrupted preseason and all the rest go out of the window. Lots of reasons why we might not win, but we have to anyway. The aim has to be the title and you can't lose at home to a promoted club.

Looks like I'll miss it too. The daughters are coming up to visit today as it's the wife's 80th on Tuesday and they'll be at work. :(

Scotland here. Having to "virtual desktop" (or whatever it's called) the home PC just to sign in on here.

I can watch it on Sky, though, so small mercies.

Same here, just got to Edinburgh for the night, on a journey up to the shetland islands. Will try and find a sports bar that is showing the Bolton game, assuming it hasn't been turned into a comedy venue (what's the difference? Ed)

Refresh the page and take a look at the four links at the top of the page. The one on the left might help if you can't find a pub.

I think he's probably still recovering from Tuesday.

No Iredale on the bench which seems odd. Injured?

No Williams, no Iredale, no Dan (again) and no goalkeeper. It's a tough call to get into our 18 when all are fit.

Maybe, but maybe Forino is the horse for this course if we expect Wrexham to be Parkinsonian.

Not sure I see the sense in leaving Southwood out but having all of Morley, Matete, Dempsey and Arfield on the bench.

No, but then I suppose Evatt will see it as very different tools - depending how the game goes.

Agree - something of a minor criticism though. Even with a few injuries, the strength in depth is very much there.
