"living the dream"
Can't find it now but I'm sure I read Iles says somewhere that lots of his journalistic mates have been contacting him about bids for our players, and from context I think it's perhaps more the ones falling out of contract than Dion & Vic who aren't
Baxter, perhaps, fits both camps - Champo quality and lapsing contract
Santos perhaps? Many a fan would jump for joy if that happened...

Are they just trying to sign everyone? #ThirdTierChelsea

I do feel for the lad. One of the most looked-at players in League One until Caldwell came in. Absolutely does not rate the kid and ended up throwing him up top at times.
Best of luck to him. Bradford have been trying for some ambitious signings this time.
Not £10m on Jay Stansfield in League One kind of ambitious, but still.

Providing that we have time to bring in a decent physical replacement striker, personally I think a £1M bid (providing its all upfront i.e. not made up of add ons.) for Vic is tempting.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 8:54 amI wonder if Adeboyejo is pushing for a move - he’s only been a sub and is clearly in demand.

No idea who Marcus Wright is.
Wigan picked up Jensen Weir yesterday. He was flying not long back and then had a bad loan and some hamstring issues. I'd certainly have taken him here a while ago. Wigan's sell-on will have meant it was a cheap deal for them. Could be very shrewd business.

Go back to my view that we won’t see any incomings today.
Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
If Birmingham do sign a player for 10m Euros. Would they be breaking FFP?
Seems like they're splashing the cash around significantly.
Not sure where they're getting all that cash from and surely it can't be sustainable, they've already spent 16m Euros from what Transfermarkt is saying.
Madness from the looks of it.

Probably a case of "sin now, repent later".
Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill!
And the key to a result is a good

They have rich owners, and if L1 has the same PSR rules as the Prem then they can kick the can down the road to an extent.Mar wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 11:54 amIf Birmingham do sign a player for 10m Euros. Would they be breaking FFP?

If Iles is to go by then that's entirely possible. Sounds like we've struggled to find a market for some players and that's stalled things.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 11:48 amGo back to my view that we won’t see any incomings today.
If the "Prem loan" needs registering that changes the calculus a lot.

No FFP. There’s SCMP but they won’t care about that. Bournemouth and Leicester are among the clubs to have spent heavily, won promotion and considered the fine a mere added extra.
Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
Cheers for the info guys. Would be nice for it to all blow up in Birmingham's face and they end up staying down after the spending, QPR Style.

The squad registration rules have more impact than the financial ones.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 12:10 pmNo FFP. There’s SCMP but they won’t care about that. Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
It'd be interesting if we ended up with 21 players registered by the deadline.
The free agents market, which we supposedly moved beyond earlier in the window, is now cropping up again.
Aaron Connolly and DSB's client Daniel Johnson are both still free agents.
Who says we have to stop speculating just because the window shuts?

Stephen Humphrys going to Barnsley, no doubt he will bag against us again!
