I’ll admit to not being completely convinced about the CMG signing at the time and I’m still sceptical of it working out. Nothing to do with his footballing ability, I was a big fan of his when he was playing on the wing at Morecambe, but that’s the problem, like Sadlier and Afolayan before him, he’s a winger so doesn’t fit into this system. His best role is playing wide left and then cutting inside.

He’s a very similar player to Dapo and we all know how that worked out when we switched to the wing back system. I’m not sure his playing style is suited to receiving the ball in tight spaces in the middle of the park.

Saying it, much better than I could, Brommers. I've got one of them, how can I use it? I had him out left too. That doesn't mean we couldn't try to adapt him, like all the others when we don't sign a LCB, we sign someone who has a significant/minor injury record and tell ourselves "that might fit." I Also had CMG as LW, maybe he can convert, maybe we're accumulating LWs as a bizarre "they sell bettet" notion or maybe someone has a cunning plan that hasn't quite had time (through injury), to show itself. Before he got croicked, he looked generally a bit purposeless and a bit lost (like Dapo and maybe Sads before be left)

I like him as a player who csn make things happen. No doubt, Pru. I think he's arguably a step up from Sads (certainly)/Dapo.(maybe). I don't have a problem with CMG, I have a problem with whether the manager can find a content downliad that fits for him ..hopefully he can.

I see Toal has gone away with Northern Ireland despite supposedly being injured. Now clearly they did the same with Charles last year and that did not help. Not very helpful either way.

A broken rib from a sneeze would usually indicate some sort of underlying condition…….id assume it’s muscular - can be painful that.

I have an old rib injury and it causes severe muscle spasms every so often. I'm used to it now, but the first time it happened I thought I was having a heart attack. Couldn't breathe or move. First time it happened in front of my wife she totally freaked out. No way I could have played football the same day.

On the Vic moving on thing, Evatt's quoted in the article as saying Vic's going nowhere. Obviously managers lie, but you'd think he'd go with the standard "Vic's a Bolton player and we want to keep him", rather than something that categorical.

I remember the phone conversation with the GP went along the lines of ‘ I was coughing so much and now I have excruciating pain in my rib cage I think I’ve broken a rib’ to be met with ‘you wish you’d broken a rib….’.

Anyway it was awful. Agony. And likely worse than a broken rib as it takes a long time to heal.

I doubt Vic will be allowed to go anywhere this window. It’s a shame he got that knock at Charlton as he’d be starting for me.

I wouldn't necessarily just assume the worst, as the coughing one, similar to your story in how it occurred had probably cleared up in a week or so (maybe 10 days) - certainly to the point where it wasn't much more than a nagging inconvenience. Cracked ribs, I was about 4 weeks, before I was back in training. I'm hoping the word "spasm" is indicative of the seriousness - fingers crossed.

The coughing strain I had lasted for about 3 weeks where the pain was just excruciating then another 4 before it was mild enough to not worry too much about it.

But I was back running after the first few weeks I guess and they will have stuff that can be done with steroid injections etc - I couldn’t even see a medical professional face to face at the time.

Aye - It didn't sound like a COVID alike, so hopefully he's not got the cough continuously which may well slow down recovery from continuing jolts. This is me trying to be sunny side up - don't knock it. 10 days max!
