I can see managers taking the odd-punt here and there - sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. We seem to be following a strategy for it, where we think the risk is worth the "extra" thing(s) a player has over alternatives - I hope they're not very close calls...Bertie Wooster wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 1:07 pmDo Evatt & Markham just ignore the injury records of some players and just sign them anyway just hoping they get lucky. Surely the board must ask questions in regards to what due diligence they do before signing players, its just wasting money (wages) and valuable squad places.

I think our strategy is to seek out players who like being injured! Perhaps we are filming our own version of casualty?Worthy4England wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 2:23 pmI can see managers taking the odd-punt here and there - sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. When Chelsea had their famously hot doctor, Eva, all the players started getting minor issues that meant they had to go and see the doctor right away.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 4:42 pmI think our strategy is to seek out players who like being injured!
I think it was Mourinho who instituted a fine if there was nothing wrong with them.
We've not accidentally hired far too attractive a physio, have we?

Yeah I didn’t mean to play at centre back. At present JDC is our only fit RB/RWB and it would probably not be ideal to run him into the ground.

Dunno but next poor run of results they will be out I imagine.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 5:02 pmWhen Chelsea had their famously hot doctor, Eva, all the players started getting minor issues that meant they had to go and see the doctor right away.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 4:42 pmI think our strategy is to seek out players who like being injured!

I know mate. I think unfortunately he’s just too short and sleight for us full stop. I think he’s positionally excellent but don’t see him having a career at this level.The_Gun wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 5:03 pmYeah I didn’t mean to play at centre back. Tentative speculation of early November, I think, but it's not been discussed recently beyond vague "making good progress" reports.

Now saying "3 or 4 months", so probably at least 4.

Arse.
But CMG could feature vs Villa next midweek, per Evatt.

Just in time for us to have nowhere to play him...

He played behind one of the strikers for a bit when he got going last season, but strikes me as he will be scrapping lolos for a bench spot.
Would like to see us give a 433 a go, with Carlos as a wide forward. Papa johns or whatever.

Saw this come up on my Twitter (cough X) feed:

Similar mould to what we've got with Toal and Rico from the looks of it.
Highlights paint people in their best light but looking good from those highlights.

Just seen Toal has given a penalty away and been substituted injured in the first half tonight.
