I was at an FA Cup game at Watford some years ago when BSA put the reserve keeper (who was a kid) in midfield for the final few minutes!

Are bury still in the fa cup? That would be an entertaining first round draw, better than Barnsley anywau

Hutchinson and Matheson start. Bench is populated by primarily kids.

Hutchinson;

JDC, Rico, Johnston

Matheson, Thomo, Matete, Lolos, Williams;

McAtee, Collins.

Dempsey and Adeboyejo do their bit to raise the average age of the bench. Joined by Dallimore, Inwood, Sharples-Ahmed, Abimbola and Lewis

Coleman is also out assisting with the warm-up, but evidently not fit enough to play any part.

Two unbelievably bad corners from Collins. Not sure I’ve seen worse!

Keeper, santos, Williams all poor for that
We’re playing like it’s a friendly but you could argue it’s showcasing all our bad traits. Slow and ponderous build up and abysmal crossing from set pieces

Low energy, low quality, as per usual. Remember when we used to play villa as equals now we have to play their u21s, and still look clueless.

Santos shouldn’t be playing - looks like he’s at 50% at best to me

"Turgid" is a word I'd use to describe an old barge chugging up a canal somewhere. Not a bad description of our Centre half either. A really lifeless display against a team of kids who have one decent attack and score. . Becoming our trade mark.

All good barring the scoreline. Villa u21 look toothless and we've let them get a goal.

Dominant performance and yet giving a way a cheap goal.

Their keeper has been good.

Little urgency. Looks like a training ground fixture.

Weve had more than enough crosses to have one come off.

Oh and where the hell is Arfield. If he's gonna put in poor performances then he should've been subjected to this game as a chance to sort it out.

He (Santos) looks so laboured he either doesn’t give a shit or he’s playing one game too many. I’m sure it’s the latter. Overall though it’s very poor and symptomatic of how dull and predictable it is under Evatt. If a team of 18/19 year olds can keep a clean sheet tonight it’s not a good sign. Keepers made one good save but we’ve been so poor in the final third.

Another completely free header in our 6 yard box. This time to the Cubs. I'm not bothered in a game result sense, but awful defending yet again. All our coaches watching the other end?

All the possession, all the chances, zero goals. Their keeper is having the game of his life, but it doesn't disguise the can't-be-arsed-itis from the majority of our squad. We haven't asked the right questions, we've been really, really poor.
