Evatt equivalent of filling the midfield and parking the bus? No support for Charles (if we do try to attack)

I guess I expected Matete to start and maybe he thinks Arfield will put himself about a bit...dunno

That must be the weakest lineup we’ve put out this season, and we’re up against the strongest opposition…

Arfield hattrick incoming. He was a very good player back in his day. I just don’t know where his best position for us is.

Maybe 3-4-2-1? I hadn't spotted - coz they didn't highlight - that JDC might be RCB!
JDC Santos Johnston
Williams Sheehan Matete Schon
Dempsey Arfield
Dion

Keep it tight and frustrate for 75 mins, fans get on their backs, then Collins and McAtee for a winner on the break. Garfield to have the game of his life. That must be the plan.

Aye that’s it. If we are playing like this I’d much prefer Vic to be starting than Dion personally.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 7:03 pmMaybe 3-4-2-1? I hadn't spotted - coz they didn't highlight - that JDC might be RCB!

Arfield?! Feck me.
Could be 451 I guess. Suspect it's 352 with Arfield up top.

Matete to do the job of 2 men.
Arfield to score early on. Sit in for 84 mins.
COYWM!

Well - like you say mate - I don't think we've seen the best of Arfield yet - maybe tonight's the night.

Well, it’s not what I was expecting. Suspect their manager will be thinking the same. So let’s see! Arfields time to shine!
Re: By Order of The Peaky Blinders. Away to Brum Tues Oct 22nd 19-45.
My thoughts exactly when I saw the team sheet. Evatt clearly seems to value experience. I, however, haven't seen anything from our elder statesmen to backup those claims. Have we signed Arfield with the intention to play him in the big games and make him skip the minnows? He's just not that good. We've got better players waiting in the wings.
I'll be very surprised if he does come good tonight. Arfield looked reasonably decent in games in pre-season, so he's clearly got some talent, but there's no way that i'd be starting him tonight. Would rather stick McAtee behind Charles if we're going down that route.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 7:14 pmWell - like you say mate - I don't think we've seen the best of Arfield yet - maybe tonight's the night.
As for two up top with Arfield next to Charles, i'd imagine he'll be sat behind Charles and having it as the intention to get Arfield playing passes rather than running to open up sides.
I do wonder if he's saving his 3-4-3 formation for late in the game when we're behind and chasing and needing a goal with McAtee-Adeboyejo-Collins.
Does anyone actually know what's happened to Baxter?

First throw in of the night, thrown backwards to our midfielder, kicked into touch for their throw in.
Lets hope it's not a pattern. That forward throw in by Randell was inspired on the weekend.

And that is my issue with Sheehan in one moment. Has to win that tackle.

1-0 Iwata long shot. FFS gonna be a long night.
Too fkin easy to get in behind leaving Johnston with two people to mark, and then a repeat of the same style of unmarked play from midfield that we saw against Shrewsbury.
