It's all a bit Onward Christian Soldiers.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 12:51 pm"Evatt has told his side to “keep walking forwards” after the defeat at Stockport," - Maybe a poor choice of words in the circumstances, Ian. Would that be walking, with a few going nowhere passes across the back, perchance?

"Silence is Golden" might balance the scales a little; providing we win of course. So who's the kids who might step up? We've had 11 different B-teamers on the bench this season.
• Matheson (6 in squad, 1 start, 1 sub, 4 unused)
• Hutchinson (6 in squad, 1 start, 5 unused)
• Inwood (6 in squad, 1 sub, 5 unused)
• Sharples-Ahmed (6 in squad, 1 sub, 5 unused)
• Lewis (3 in squad, 1 sub 2 unused)
• Dallimore (2 in squad, 2 unused)
• Weston (2 in squad, 2 unused)
• Abimbola (1 in squad, 1 unused)
• Isong (1 in squad, 1 unused)
• Andreucci (1 in squad, 1 unused)
• Eze (1 in squad, 1 unused)
There'd been at least one of 'em on the bench for the seven games before Stockport, so maybe we'll play better tonight...
Luke Hutchinson, now aged 22, might get another start between the posts (he played against Villa) if we decide not to risk Baxter. If Baxter's rested rather than risked, 18-year-old Jack Dallimore might be on the bench again.
Hard to see a kid starting in the back three. The relative paucity of defenders might mean Geth starts at RCB, with Will Forrester also needing to get back on the horse as soon as possible after his Stockport horror show. Josh Dacres-Cogley is another option. As for the kids, summer B-team signing Ajay Weston (aged 19) is a left-sided defender but I think he's more LWB than LCB, and hasn't been in a first-team squad since the Barrow game in early September.
With Szabi Schön away, it's possible Sam Inwood (19) gets to expand on his 14 minutes against Villa, although Randell Williams should probably start at LWB; at RWB Luke Matheson (22) should share duties with the returning Jordi Osei-Tutu, if Evatt gets permission from BWFCi.
In central midfield there's no Josh Sheehan. Like Forrester, Jay Matete may be keen to get a game further away from his Stockport nightmare. Scott Arfield needs minutes, as does Klaidi Lolos, so we're likely to go 'senior' hereabouts. Of the kids, Sonny Sharples-Ahmed (19) is a central midfielder I think - he came on late at Stockport last season and Shrewsbury this. Probably more likely we start with Arfield and maybe bring the kid on. Conor Lewis (17?) is also a midfielder but also very young and tends to be brought on for a mascot's minute.
Up front, Dion's away and the senior forwards might need to go again after stinking at Stockport. Of the kids, David Ambimbola (17?) was on the bench against Villa. Dubem Eze (19), signed from Norwich in summer, has been on loan at Chorley - possible he's back now - and seems to be a sort of 10 / support striker. Mark Isong (18) also signed in summer from Shelbourne - he was on the bench at Barrow - while Ben Andreucci (19) is on loan at Buxton - I think young loanees can be brought back to guest in this comp, but I doubt he will be.
Per BN, Hutchinson, Inwood, Sonny Sharples-Ahmed, Lewis and Noah Halford were all absent from the B Team squad against Rotherham and thus might be involved tonight.

So I was wrong. It IS the stand behind Evatt that's open. Something to do with snooker in the East.
And more wrong - I'm back in my favoured North Stand position. So no comments on manager behaviour, positive or otherwise!
Jones starts, as does Sonny Sharples-Ahmed. McAtee the only one on the bench without a pacifier.

I’m going to whack it on the telly, but if we’re shite it’s going off sharpish. Take that, Ian!
I will say that it’s great to see a lad with Asian heritage representing us. I hope young Sonny does well.

Echo that. Always good to see one of the academy start. Good luck Sonny.

Marc Iles points out that this is the first time an outfield academy graduate has started for the senior team since Jan 2022!
Edit: Is that right? I thought Inwood had started for us since then.

Barrow beating Villa mean we need to lose to not progress here.

Position of our defenders on that cross then
Honestly we now know evattdoesnt bother with training half the time, I’m not sure what the players are doing in it! Bit of table tennis maybe?

Fleetwood should score. Horrendous defending, Randy teatted ball against matete, all of a sudden they had a spare man in the box. Skied over

Bit biz this.
Matete not filling me with confidence. Lolos is showing some fight and effort.

Yeah it’s not exactly the ‘response’ asked for is it.
Randell has given the ball away every time.
Lolos is a willing runner but I’m not convinced with his first touch.
We keep giving the ball away.
