Lessons learned . Away to Cambridge Tues, 26th Nov. 1745.

Where fellow sufferers gather to share the pain, longing and unrequited transfer requests that make being a Wanderer what it is...

Pretty pretty poor
Midfield 3 ineffective
Williams probably the pick of the bunch going forwards
Cogley is honking

Not great, but we’ve got a lot of improvement in us.

Only tuned in from 15 mins but it’s so far one of the worst matches I’ve seen in recent years. And we know that’s saying something.

Can't say the person editing the highlight reel will have to work hard on that half.

A rocket up their arses at half time needed.

Awful 1st half performance. We're so much less than the sum of our parts right now.

Game is very winnable second half as was Saturday but we still look miles off a top side in this league. We look very pedestrian and most of season have had a whiff of mid table in the performance levels.

He's had his moments but there is nobody near him. Johnston, Thommo and Williams working well on the left. I assume the equivalent is Metete, JDC and Jones on the right. They aren't working well together.

Well, that's a forgettable first half.
Sums it up in six words. Our passing and ball possession is pure Moss Bank schoolboys.

Geth has been all over the place. And some really dangerous and easily intercepted passes we’ve just about got away with. Not many been much better, mind. Not individuals I’m worried about. We should be absolutely bossing these in midfield with the extra man. And yet: nothing is built through midfield—total lack of confidence and I can’t blame them when nobody seems to be able to pass 6 yards accurately. Finishing’s been abysmal, too.

Plus-side: they don’t seem to be able to handle balls over the top any better than we can. Might’ve been one for Vic to take a CB away, even if he does nowt with it, or is offside. And offside again. And again.

I'm quite used to the long spells of pedestrian play, where we move slowly sideways and forwards, then look bemused at how many players they have back. At least usually our slow passing is accurate. The passing tonight has been sloppy, behind the player and carried no threat. Big improvement needed.

Bit of a flop from Johno, but we’ll take it.
