Yes I mentioned this on the transfer thread earlier this afternoon, I had to check it wasn't April 1st.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2024 6:25 pmEvatt hiring his mate Brett Ormerod as kit man. Literally jobs for the boys. We are paying to watch Evatt take the piss.

Wtf is that all about? Are we unhappy the current chap isn’t getting the muck out of the white shirts?
Didn’t Owen Coyle have his brother in law on kit n cones duty?

We all joked that they needed another person to sack and take the blame.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2024 7:37 pmWtf is that all about? Are we unhappy the current chap isn’t getting the muck out of the white shirts?

Bar Anderson era this is easily the most disillusioned I’ve ever been with the club and how it’s run.
Absolute disgrace top to bottom. Horrible.
Re: The ianevattable sacking
Whose to say this is a bad thing?
If I remember correctly we've got Ted Moulden handling the kit duty. He may be looking for a change. Bringing in the likes of Ormerod might be a good thing as he'd be able to help coach the players with his experience.
Personally, I like the story we have with Ted Moulden and how he got the job. Would be a shame to just pass that on to mates rates.

I don't know why everything is a conspiracy these days.
Kit man is replaced. So what.

Yeah I don't care. One free Saturday and the melodrama comes out!

Ted has been involved in academy coaching hasn't he? Maybe he's been given one of the age groups and can no longer juggle both roles - It's strange to hear of a kitman being replaced and managers never bring their own unless there's a vacancy

Re: The ianevattable sacking
Kit man hands in notice as he's off to work at Man City. Evatt has given the role to man who needs the job.
What's the issue with that?

Isn't it obvious? I'll tell you what the issue with it is.....
It makes perfect & common sense!
As as we all know, this is not necessarily the place for that without assuming there's some sort of dystopian conspiracy going on to ruin the club before our very eyes.......

Re: The ianevattable sacking
As a story in itself it's not much (assuming Moulden is indeed off). Kinda nice to have that sort of experience around.
However, the old-boys optics aren't great, and the reaction proves how thin is the ice on which Evatt skates.
If we go up, folk won't care if we the kitman is Pol Pot. But it's a big if.

Re: The ianevattable sacking
If we were currently top end of League 1 there would still be those complaining about sacking the manager. It's in the nature of some folk to complain at the sun shining.

Evatt has given it to an old mate. That’s the issue. Millions of people need a job. What was the recruitment process?DJBlu wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2024 11:50 amKit man hands in notice as he's off to work at Man City. Evatt has given the role to man who needs the job.

We got into this mess with Allardyce. It was a mistake but that was mitigated by unprecedented success.
Allowing a manager to build an old boys network when they are as poor as Evatt and a horrible horrible character to boot is unwise. I’d go further but let’s just say unwise.

Re: The ianevattable sacking
Does the kit man role involve some specialised skills and experience I'm unaware of? Presumably he's just responsible for the kit being present and correct when it is needed?

There waa a long list of kitmen. Thoroughly analysed and although Brett sometimes forgets to iron the socks, he still came out top for shirts and shorts.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2024 1:59 pmDoes the kit man role involve some specialised skills and experience I'm unaware of? That's old school thinking, Twiny. In the modern game, titles are won or lost depending on who you appoint as kit man. Look what's happened at City since they got rid of Moulden's predecessor.
