Just not surprising at all any more.

Terrible defending from JDC to cut out the cross. Jones left to pick up two defenders in the box, one nudging him the other free header.
Can't blame Baxter for that one, but certainly we can add it to the list of goals we could've avoided.
Great header.

Geth's jump was poor but his man wasn't the scorer. Matete was a half-interested observer two yards away.

If anyone doesn’t think a GudninBergsson type at the back and a Karl Henry type in midfield, coupled with some normal football isn’t what is needed I despair!!

What is he trying here?
Round pegs in square holes or the other way round?
Sheehan, what are you doing?

Sheehans having one of those games that passes him by. So frustrating. Why can’t he play like he does for Wales?

Different levels of passion. Knows he walks into this team.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 8:24 pmSheehans having one of those games that passes him by. So frustrating. Why can’t he play like he does for Wales?

With inverted wingbacks, we've found a way to make two more players turn backwards and inside

That's some pathetic attack play by Collins. Good work from Vic and terrible from Collins.
Can flip that sentence several times in the match. Would be nice to see them link up better rather than only one of them doing something good

Will Evatt get potted if we lose this one?

Make that 10 blanks in 12 home first halves. And this time, it's loud boos from a sparse crowd.DSB wrote:... in 11 home games (all comps), we've scored 5 first-half goals - but 4 were against Reading. Nine times we've reached the oranges without scoring. Under the circs I think the home crowd has been quiet patient.

An insult to the name of Bolton Wanderers and its history that half. An insult.
Re: A Novel affair. Home to Mansfield Town Tues 3rd Dec. 1945
Dog shit.
Victor, what is his game then? Cause this ain't it.
Collins and McAtee? Champagne Charlies. Not going to dig in and smash a Mansfield defence.
Gethin Jones is dreadful. Every ball punted down the wing to nobody.
Sick of it. Piss poor football. They don't want to win this. They don't have any passion for it. They are literally going through the fecking motions.
Mansfield showing that you don't have to be special to get the goals. Play to your strengths.
3 at the back isn't helping. Zonal marking isn't working. We're giving every team a 1 nil headstart.

Oh and a half empty ground with a disinterested crowd. These are dark times. Dark times.
Re: A Novel affair. Home to Mansfield Town Tues 3rd Dec. 1945
Long overdue.
Started poorly, grew into it, grew out of it. IN, OUT, IN, OUT, Evatt fks about.
We've seen 7 goals scored in the first half of matches this season, 8 if you include the cups.
That's 7 goals from 23 games (1035 mins and only 7 goals, 0.3 per half), THREE of those came in the Reading game.
The fans are right to boo, its not good enough these first half performances. Sure we might get a tune in the second half, but not before giving ourselves a mountain to climb.
