Here Wycombe a Wandering . Away to Wycombe Friday 20th Dec 19-45.

Where fellow sufferers gather to share the pain, longing and unrequited transfer requests that make being a Wanderer what it is...

Helps not buying injury-prone defenders, leaving you a centre-back and a wing-back short.
While I fully agree, there is a counter-argument to that - namely that if we don't grab an Osei-Tutu (good but fragile) then we're either a man down or we can get a worse one (would it really help to have another indefatigable but limited JDC?)

Evatt has said that someone as good as Osei-Tutu wouldn't be in our price range if he were injury-free and for once I agree with him

We don't always take risks on hiring players with injury histories - Kane WIlson being the obvious example

I'd also say that about half our injuries are muscular (avoidable?) and half are impact/accident (luck of the draw)

The only true centre-back we'll have tonight knocked himself out for three months by falling downstairs - Evatt's to blame for a lot of stuff but not that

We're going to fluke a win tonight.

Part of me thinks Morley will be telling them trade secrets and Evatt will counter this with a master stroke. I'll wake up at some point.

We're going to get beat about 5, 6, 7 or so nil. I'm not sure I can watch us capitulate. We've no defence, the midfield can't offer them any protection and we'll play Dion Charles on the wing and he'll get sent off out of frustration

The only thing we can do is just have a right good go at them, but we'll do the exact opposite

I think I’m with BB - the personnel we have available all points towards an utter spanking. I’d feel that way against most sides in this division.

See, I still think we can (and will) beat a few sides by the Worthy maxim - we have better players.

But Wycombe have been much much better than us - pointswise, almost half as good again (43pts vs 30); goals-for, more than half as good again (43 v 28). We haven't won at a top-half team all season - the teams we've won at are currently 12th (but were 13th when we played them), 18th, 19th and 21st. We've only been to two top-half teams - Birmingham and Stockport - and neither ended well at all.

At my FIL's 81st tonight. Reckon the conga going to look rather more co-ordinated than our lot. Might be more yellow cards but almost certainly fewer injuries.

Sorry - I meant with the defence we have available tonight I wouldn’t fancy us against most teams.

Football is never a logical sport. That's why we love it so much.

Looks to me like a box midfield wth Lolos and Collins behind Vic, but who knows - those front three could line up either way
