Williams getting a shot off is presumably why we're playing the inverted wingbacks. Don't mind that, but shouldn't be a staple of our play when most of our chances are cut backs with weak foot. Cut backs with strong foot, then change it for a shooting option.

Got 2-1 written all over it this. Another top half team we've seemingly screwed up.

Johnston's passing into the final third has been abysmal this half.

No we’re playing them cos evatt saw pep do it.

It’s classic evatt we’re the better team by far but we’ve shipped a couple of soft goals and not made the most of our opportunities.

Diabolical, yes.

This is the issue with the "League One players can't play this way" narrative. It's not the advanced stuff that is crippling us, it's the stuff League One teams (and our own players) can do.

Jonno, Jones and others are just miles off it.

You can understand why. Both back off injuries and Johnston's was a horrendous one, but it's killing us.

Evatt takes loads of blame for not sorting the wingbacks out, but he's also really hampered by the injuries.

Oh, and now they're falling over. Comical stuff. Embarrassing.

All our possession and Mansfield have looked the more likely to score. We're playing frustrated.

Platform to kick on with the Lincoln game and we follow it up with this. So poor.

Won't be long till we'll be in the bottom half of the table.

He's asking them to do things they're not capable of. This intricate passing and 17 pass goals when they need to just stick to the basics.

We're not getting any better with this clown in charge. Sooner he's gone the better.

Johnston had a full pre season and we’re halfway through - not having his injury last season as a reason for being shit this one. It’s coaching, training and preparation - or lack of it:

Jones well and truly convincing me he's not a league one player. Likeable guy, but should be nowhere near picked ahead of Forrester.

That kind of injury will impact him for a year, quite easily. We knew that and we went into the season with him having to be a main player.

Our insistence on signing injury-prone players, to add to a squad with long term injuries, is a huge part of why we are here.

All over, as expected. A very ian-evitable afternoon of football.

Disappointing, but not unexpected.

We've been unable to do the basics time and time again. Trying to walk the ball into the net rather than creating chances and putting them away quickly.

Disturbing stuff. Lads might as well have gone on the piss last night given the result would've been the same.

Dress it up however we like, different players, etc. chopping and changing. Same things playing out. Opposition player with too much space on the edge of the box scoring, Bolton trying to many passes and not getting a shot off.

Goalkeeper might as well have not been in the net in the second half given our shooting.

Some positives in that first half, but same switch off at half time.

Another manager, even one who plays the same brand of football, gets so much more out of this group.

Evatt had a run of time where he was a net positive. He's now an anchor. He won't go anywhere, but how any manager can't see that wingback issue is beyond me. Ian's decided it'll work, reality be damned.

Mad that we never see a ball into the 10 (Lolos or whomever) and Collins or Charles off the shoulder. Two of the most prolific strikers of the past seasons squashed by our glaciality.

Totally agree. We've got one way of playing and that's it. Ball to the forwards a lot quicker and we may just see something different.
