Wycombe replace Caleb Taylor with some Norwegian giant.
A massive, mobile, left-footed centre back you say? Glad nobody else needs one of those...

...or to replace Joe Low. Although their highly-rated centre-back hasn't yet left, a few Champo clubs are circling. Wycombe have also been linked with borrowing Brentford's Tristan Crama, who's on loan at Exeter and played against us the other day.

If they lose Low and Morley as well as Taylor, that's their recent first-choice centre-back pairing *and* No6 to replace. Interesting January for them, and if Bloomfield pulls them through that scale of mid-season rebuild then it's hats off.

I have said for a while now that I expect Huddersfield to get top two.

I can see why. They haven't lost in the league since Oct 1 (and that was a 1-0 at Birmingham). Since then, W10 D5 L0, 9 clean sheets, only failed to score once.

I suspect it depends how well FC Hollywood recruit this month. If anyone can out-Duff Duff it's Parky. For all Bloomfield's good work I'd probably have Wycombe 4th favourites for top-two now - but for us, if we manage to clamber out of the also-rans into the play-offs, it's worrying that we'll probably have to face Parky or Duff. I can't decide whether that would be worse at Wembley (potentially more painful) or in the semis (potentially more chance for Evatt to be outwitted).

Interesting to see a number of Wycombe fans starting to question Bloomfield and speculate around him.

Sorry, Pru, but I'm a different generation to you: is "stone cold donkey" a good thing? Similar to "brat summer" perhaps?

Hudds are signing Joe Taylor, who we were linked with last season. I think that firmly buries the Dion rumour.

Yeah, there are a few Bolton fans who are going to go spare for a bit over us not splashing millions on him.

And might just be the signing that gets them automatic promotion. He proved at Lincoln last season (10 goals in 19) that he can score; put him in a team that doesn't concede and it feels like you're on a winner.

I'd rather they waited until after we played them, I must admit.

I mean. You'd have said that regardless of who we were playing. I'll grant you an upwardly-mobile Hollywood FC and a Huddersfield smarting from relegation - but the rest were mid-table fodder last season.
Taking your point, truewhite, but so much has changed even since then, managers, players and the games themselves (strategies etc) that it's hard to make comparisons on anything. We just have to play our best games and ignore all else. I mean bringing in experts at protecting football from the weather (Rotherham) as a priority, what next? ae:)

"The earliest known use of the adjective stone-cold is in the late 1500s.

OED's earliest evidence for stone-cold is from 1592, in the writing of Nicholas Breton, poet."

Stone-cold, meaning certain.

You all just need to educate yourselves achtuaaaly. Or I can find the hyphen key.

Wrestling fans are confident. He wasn't Dwayne "A Rock" Johnson.
