To make a bad day worse, Rotherham ran out of both beer and pies before half time.

Evatt would blame that on the catering staff being mentally weak.

When for two seasons previous people have questioned the character and mindset of the players Evatt has said ‘that’s rubbish’. Now he suddenly decides it’s a problem.

Well Ian - we have a team of men all in their twenties some thirties and you have recruited all bar one. And they are your men. It’s not very likely that they will decide to find some character and backbone now is it? Having spent the rest of their lives happy aboard one gravy train or another their best being the benevolent BWFC all aboard for a free ride gravy train.

Perhaps you know if you managed and stripped them of the privilege of playing for this great club - on the many many historical occasions they have shown themselves to be a disgrace you wouldn’t be the one getting the calls to go today and every day. But you didn’t. And you haven’t.

When half the away stand is calling for your head it's not usually recoverable. When you come out after the game and blame everyone but yourself then all it does is make that worse.

What a day.

Yeah, it was roughly half. Most were silent. Some were kicking off in defence of Evatt (or perhaps more at not backing the team during the 90).

A couple of scraps.

Look, if they want any hope of saving him then they need to be on the phone tonight hijacking that Wiredu deal and picking up someone like Richard Taylor from St Mirren.

If he's going to send them out to vacate the midfield then he needs centre backs who can physically dominate forwards across that back three and deal with the inevitable transitions. Johnston just isn't up to it at the moment and Jones was never that player. Forino was meant to be, but he's always missed at least half a season. Toal is going through it this season. Rico is having his winter wobble. There's not a single reliable centre back at the club right now. If he's throwing them under the bus then get rid of a couple and bring new faces and voices in. He's clearly given up on the basic idea that managers fix these things and help players.

Today was a disaster. He completely wasted his latest signing, exposed an already shoddy defence and then refused to use his bench fully. It looked like he was disciplining certain players by leaving them out there. His post-match would seem to support that.

Johnston, Thomason and others will have their time in a white shirt. They have shown they can be players here. They're suffering right now, so fecking help them.

I don't like spending money just to save a manager who can be replaced (or improved up, in the current managerial market), but if he's staying then go and buy the players.

It just seems like he’s completely lost the plot tactically.

I don’t know whether another manager could get this exact bunch promoted, but I wouldn’t count against it. In any case, I’d be telling Evatt to go with what he’s got now.

No manager will come in and use exactly the same group of players.

Who they would and wouldn't use would depend on who we got in. Plenty can do much better with this group.

Evatt and Markham have spent far too much money already. Don’t give these absolute piss takers a single penny more. Not a single penny. They’ve completely and utterly failed and both need a P45 and a very sharp and very pointed public dismissal statement. Nowt more. Signing Randall was an absolute disgrace.

"Changing me won't make any difference". Amazing really that clubs ever bother to change their managers.

We've a few out of form, one or two who are no longer capable of performing well at this level and sad to say, a couple of effete show ponies but you'll not convince me that a different manager couldn't get a better tune out of this lot of players.

I was hoping he'd walk a few weeks ago, with our thanks and appreciation for some good moments. Now he can feck off. I just want him gone ASAP.

Yeah I meant the squad.

Anyhow, this might come across as mean spirited, but I just don’t think Evatt is very bright. I’m pretty confident he’s hit his ceiling as a coach for the time being. He can blame the players all he wants, but for me he’s getting consistently out-thought by League One managers.

There’s summat going on behind the scenes. They can’t get rid of him at least until summer I reckon, hopefully we’re not stuck with him until the end of his contract. Theirs a cock up with his contract and package I’m convinced of it.

How else could you get away with this many embarrassing defeats and no shows? No manager in the history of football has as many in two seasons as we’ve managed im sure.

Jesus has chosen him to be a Premier League manager and is now simply testing their faith.

We've just given him another million quid, so I don't think it can be money.

They obviously have a close working relationship which is broadly a good thing. But I suspect means she's overly optimistic on whether he can turn it around.

I'm all for giving managers time, but there's no coming back from this, and hasn't been for some time.

Yes I agree with this, however I'm not sure if its financial but it looks like the chairman's judgement is being clouded by something ?

To play devil's advocate for Sharon, if you want to defend Evatt you can do it; but you have to want to now.

Evatt consistently improved every season until this one, so this is his first regressive season.
He started the season with a raft of senior player injured and the lost a number of his summer signings to injuries.
He's still not got all those players back fully fit and his first January signing only arrived in the building this week.
Many of the players have publicly (and privately) backed him - including signing new deals.

So if you believe wholeheartedly in him then at minimum you are giving him January recruitment and then time for those new players to settle and have an impact.

Sharon got national praise for saying they would run this club differently and not sack the manager as the first resort, now we're struggling and all the has gone out of the window.

That being that, regardless of your personal view, she has got to back him in the market. If she believes all of the above then he will need at least 2-3 more players. He's said himself it can't just be recruitment, but some of it will have to be. Deserved or not.

The obvious issue is coaching. He will be given months to coach his way out of it. He's previously turned around bad situations, but he's never lost this large a section of the fans before.

This will not be fun.

Are there fans that still support Evatt, Ghost?
