I don't follow this stuff closely, but didn't we appoint a new CFO fairly recently? I was sure they were talking to people this calendar year.

Dan has been hard done to. *This* is really everything wrong with modern football. I understand we have to have one now, I've made my peace with that. But I should never have to know who they are. BBC gossip column running stories on who will be Man Utd's new director of something or other is it?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 11:12 amThen I'll assume you'll be even less interested in this...![]()

Per his own LinkedIn, Niaz Shazad started a month ago. And was at City Football Group before that... so aye, it's not really news. Sorry, everyone back to sleep!GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 11:27 amI don't follow this stuff closely, but didn't we appoint a new CFO fairly recently? Ilsey mentioned something on his podcast last week that Niaz and someone else who's name I've forgotten (someone Mason?) were taking over as joint Chief Execs (although unsure whether permanent or on interim basis)???

Phil Mason, who has been the pastoral lead at the club for donkeys years.dave the minion wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 1:43 pmIlsey mentioned something on his podcast last week that Niaz and someone else who's name I've forgotten (someone Mason?) were taking over as joint Chief Execs (although unsure whether permanent or on interim basis)???
I think it was Phil that first got Sharon interested in buying us.

Hart's departure could be announced by the end of the week according to the BN.

So who actually benefits by sacking the manager?
"One nil" is the only thing that matters in football and ever will, whatever league we're in, and there isn't a manager on earth can predict or guarantee that. Blaming the manager won't change a thing unless we're getting demoted. Even then those at the bottom seem better regarded than not winning the League by a game or goal difference.
Daft innit?
Amen.

Frankly a bit disgusted by the unnecessary sexism, mate. You're frustrated, fine, but you should be better than that.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 9:30 pmIs Sharon’s problem being a typical woman who can’t admit she was wrong to appoint Evatt in the first place?
At some point the blokes on the board have got to pop her off to the kitchen to stick the kettle on and make an adult decision?

Yup, that's poor.

You’ve clearly been spending too much time with backwards Yorkshiremen.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 9:30 pmIs Sharon’s problem being a typical woman who can’t admit she was wrong to appoint Evatt in the first place?

OK - apologies for any offence.
A poor joke - is she on her own in the boardroom is the question. I’ll delete.

If some who claim to know a few people at the club are to be believed, Ms Brittan is the only one of the board who still backs Evatt.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 9:51 pmOK - apologies.

If it is true, and I'm not sure it is, then the rest obviously haven't so far felt strongly enough about it to force the issue.

There isn’t a mechanism to force the issue. Some arms length Swiss investors aren’t going to buy a controlling stake to oust a manager - it’s just not realistic.nicholaldo wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 11:03 pmBertie Wooster wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 9:55 pmIf some who claim to know a few people at the club are to be believed, Ms Brittan is the only one of the board who still backs Evatt.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 9:51 pmOK - apologies.

And structurally it’s Sharon’s sole decision.

Are we allowed to be frankly a bit disgusted with being absolutely shite? It feels like I'm watching my 1998 Champ Man season after I went Gung-Ho on the two before the league cup final - and won. Shit football, meticulously planned to be pretty shit (unless you can out-tank the oppo, in which case wave your willy). Burn it.

Re: Financiers, investors and white knights: What next for FV?
Just to point out I had apologised and deleted the original post before this one ghost..it’s still up as a quote from tw of course. I’d seen Harry Enfield ‘get the bloke’ sketch earlier in the week which is where my head was at with it. as I said apologies for anyone offended I know TW15 is a good guy so took his response as the barometer. I’m not genuinely suggesting Sharon’s sex has anything to do with her performance in the board room. A joke that was better in my head than typed out.
