A very Athletic affair. Home to Charlton Tues, 21st Jan, 19-45.

Where fellow sufferers gather to share the pain, longing and unrequited transfer requests that make being a Wanderer what it is...

Evatt on the pitch having a go at one of their players
If it's their lad in the corner then he's no right to. Matete clearly stamps on the lads leg. Wouldn't be surprised if it's reported.

Another loss Ian. That win % is tumbling.
Wasn't that lad. Think it was Lloyd Jones.

Not seen the game so can’t comment on that - sounds like a better showing.

But someone sent me a clip of Matete stamping on someone’s leg. That looks horrific. Any context?

Decent performance for 60 minutes, but we didn't react to their 3 subs and the ball being chucked into the box, as we rarely do. Stuffy winner but we can't complain, we switched off for the first, weren't strong enough for the second and created virtually nothing after our goal.

How many losses will it take??

Boos completely warranted, it's not enough to be shit for over half a season, play slightly better in the final third against a crap team, let in two piss poor goals and think yeah that's good enough. It's not.

Just petulant rather than a stamp. Very slow press down.

Football's a funny thing. Better performance than against Cambridge, but worse result. Go figure.

This post sums up tonight.

As a team we are just weak as fcuk and lack height, physicality & leadership which many have been saying for ages. Evatt didn't react at all to their 3 subs which changed the game IMO

Every soft goal we've conceded in our last ? games, has been from set pieces and teams bullying the ball in. Excuses count for nought , just goals. Players, manager or fans won't be remembered at season end, just losses. We're good at them.

That's a feckin shite result. I only nipped out to take a phone call. If we lose Sat then he has to go.

I saw improvement. I saw effort and fight. Sure we conceded two sloppy goals but it was a much improved performance.

A defeat wasn't warranted.

We play like that then we'll win more games than not.

I'm not mad. Just disappointed.

5th highest goals against in the league. Another two conceded to be sat proudly on 41 from 26 games. What's that? 14th time in the league this season?

He’s had to go for months. It’s over and he knows he has to go and so does every single person. Results irrelevant now.

Better performance, particularly in the 2nd half but we were still fairly poor by the standards we've previously set. Charlton looked a poor side too. At 1-0 it felt like we were in control but desperate for fresh legs. Lots around us asking where the subs were.

Their winner was ironic. Buy a ticket and you'll occasionally win the raffle. Our lads would still be wandering up and down outside the off licence.

Agreed. Daft rarther than violent. Their lad was on the floor, JOT (I think) was standing over him, Matete came up and just sort of rested his foot on his calf. No need.

I agree we were better going forward but the caveat to that is that they barely ever pressed or closed the space and most teams won't make it so easy.
