A very Athletic affair. Home to Charlton Tues, 21st Jan, 19-45.

Where fellow sufferers gather to share the pain, longing and unrequited transfer requests that make being a Wanderer what it is...

Positive move. There’s still talent in this squad. A playoff push this year would be ideal, but if it’s not to be, the players have half a season to show they’re worth keeping on for a proper push next season. New manager can identify where the gaps are, and hopefully a positive summer.

I have a shortlist I just drew up at breakfast.

Lowe, Schumacher obviously. Then Gary O’Neil and Dyche.

The latter two may seem a bit ambitious and unlikely.

But O’Neil has premiership experience, knows the club, is a good sort. If he had the hunger and desire to come here and get us up and maybe up again he’d be a good pick. If he doesn’t have that hunger he’s the wrong choice anyway.

I believe Sharon might know Sean thanks to the Burnley connection. Be the longest of long shots. Longest of long. But he could sort out our defence? Highly unlikely I know.

I’m also ‘anyone but Rooney’.

Aye sorry. I genuinely don’t think they’d go there.

I really hope not. One thing taking a punt on young up coming, but another on young proven useless.

I saw improvement. I saw effort and fight. Sure we conceded two sloppy goals but it was a much improved performance.

A defeat wasn't warranted.

We play like that then we'll win more games than not.

I'm not mad. Just disappointed.

I agree we were better going forward but the caveat to that is that they barely ever pressed or closed the space and most teams won't make it so easy.
I suspect that a number of players knew it was Evatt's last stand and a fair few had raised their game accordingly. I don't think he'd entirely lost the dressing room, just a few being unable to raise their games to the levels required as a unit.
