The Three must get cheers. Away to Huddersfield, Sat, 25th Jan, 12-30 pm
Diving into the unknown in more ways than one. Can our temporary makeshift managerial team cross swords with the high flyers and come out valiant? See you behind the Cathedral at three-o'clock. On Guard then....

Really interested to see how we play without a manager. You'd imagine effort levels might be higher (not that I agree with those who claim players were shirking when Evatt was in charge). We've got to keep Charles quiet too.
Unfortunately I'm away so can't watch this one. But for anyone tuning in, kick off is at 12:30pm (not 3!) on Sky.

Apologies for the time error. 12-30 not 3-0' clock. Sorry. Thanks H.M.X.

It’s a free hit. Nobody expects anything especially in the circumstances. So free hit. I would think we can trouble their defence it’s our defence though that worries me most against them.
Give it a proper go. Can actually look forward to a game of football for the first time this season. Which in itself is a relief.

Having been a Charles supporter through thick and thin, I do entertain a few worries that he knows our game very well and we can't afford to give him shooting space or it may cost us. On the other side of a two-headed coin, Dion might be claimed to having an affinity to grass loving and referees being what referees are where Bolton are concerned, the word "penalty" must be avoided at all costs.
Predicting this one is doubly difficult because we don't even know our own managerial traits as yet. Best bet is still hope and belief in our players. War of the Roses part 49...

Remember the Reading game - would be great if (now the shackles are off a bit) they could go out with the same spirit, if only to say "See, it wasn't us." Alternatively, they could invoke the spirit of Ian and/or show the new manager what they're about (because they'll likely watch either live or in highlights. If I was say a regular who might be considering looking in the mirror, quite closely, I think I'd probably try for 110%...BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 9:41 amIt’s a free hit. Also difficult for Duff (or anyone) to plan against an unknown quantity. They can prepare for certain players but the XI and the shape are anyone's guess.
And as Worthy says, the players will be putting their best selves forward.

We should probably turn up with Tutty changed and ready - that'll confuse 'em.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 4:28 pmAlso difficult for Duff (or anyone) to plan against an unknown quantity. They can prepare for certain players but the XI and the shape are anyone's guess.

Hmm if the new potential manager is watching he may be on the couch Saturday. Let's watch out for a new cushion plumper because it will be him.

"Wanderers will make late calls on Ricardo Santos and Eoin Toal’s involvement against Huddersfield Town this weekend."
Team to be picked by all three caretakers, tomorrow.

Julian Darby saying how much it means to him and his family is definitely a bit lump in throat forming. He’s one of the good ones. Absolutely no ego.

Been thinking about him a lot recently as Evatt's dog days descended into a cover version of Neal's final campaign. Jules copped plenty of flak when Neal stubbornly declined to drop him ("resting" and rotation didn't exist then) despite the fella clearly being off-form. Folk were bringing in "11" sub cards to hold up. He did the best he could and of course came back strong under Rioch. He'd do owt for the club, that mon.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 5:16 pmJulian Darby saying how much it means to him and his family is definitely a bit lump in throat forming. Did he not do the "step up between managers," once before? Thought he had for some reason...

I always thought he was treated very poorly by the fans tbh. Always gave his best. Probably wasn’t quite good enough really but he wasn’t alone.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 5:19 pmBeen thinking about him a lot recently as Evatt's dog days descended into a cover version of Neal's final campaign. In 2012 he was assistant to caretaker Jimmy Pip in the gap between Coyle and Freedman. I think he might have done the same between Parky and Hill (JP was definitely the caretaker again).Worthy4England wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 5:23 pmDid he not do the "step up between managers," once before? EDIT Ilesy's interviewed him. For much more, read: https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/2 ... eady-lead/
