Yeah. I only put it on here to see if it would affect the betting.

Listened to Iles’ post match podcast over breakfast. He requested interviews with ‘leaders’ about the managerial search this week and was turned down because there would be no point as all would be wrapped up.
Yesterday he was primed for an announcement today. Clearly not happening now.
Odd one this. As Iles speculates is it a hitch or breakdown in the deal, another option surfacing or something else?

The search for a new manager began in earnest a week ago today; that it's not yet concluded shouldn't be of concern. If Iles was refused an interview because an announcement is imminent, then that is the most likely outcome.

I think his point is that the club were indicating it would be done by today and now seemingly that has changed.TonyDomingos wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 7:45 amBWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 7:18 amListened to Iles’ post match podcast over breakfast. There's a chunk of today left. But Iles deffo seemed in the "last game for Jules" camp yesterday. Maybe the new dude was asking questions like "do I have to do that defensive thing, too?" and got nervous...BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 7:56 amI think his point is that the club were indicating it would be done by today and now seemingly that has changed.TonyDomingos wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 7:45 amBWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 7:18 amListened to Iles’ post match podcast over breakfast. Maybe someone forgot a clause that was supposed to be in the contract, or maybe the lawyer fell down the stairs and the backup guy was unavailable yesterday. Loads of simple innocent reasons. We all need to chill. Yeah I suspect there is a contractural hitch of some sort. I’m not worried in the sense that Jules could carry on for as long as he wants in my view. It’s more the transfer window the bothers me.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 8:10 amMaybe someone forgot a clause that was supposed to be in the contract, or maybe the lawyer fell down the stairs and the backup guy was unavailable yesterday. Not sure I harbour any great expectations of the remaining transfer window....

Re: Who's the Rioch to Evatt's Neal?
Wycombe have been without a manager a week longer than us and still haven't appointed, so these things can take time.
I was well up and prepared for Schumacher and there'll be disappointment now if it's not him but just got to trust the process.

Online, his post-match piece said, "Wanderers are still expected to name a successor to Ian Evatt before their game at Reading on Saturday but the official line from the club this evening was that the process was ongoing."

It’s surely better to conduct a proper process and hire the right person rather than rush something through?
A week really isn’t very long time in the grand scheme of things.

Any transfer activity will likely be around Markham's list of options already drawn up anyway - he's been too busy doing managerial search work the last week, or so we're toldBWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 8:25 amYeah I suspect there is a contractural hitch of some sort. You get my drift

Yeah, I agree, if I was heading in as new manager, not sure I'd absolutley want to blow the entire tranfer kitty before the window shut anyhow.
At this point, he's probably got a free hit on the expectations front, might prefer to save his firepower for summer.

They have but that's because they identified thier man and did all they could to convince him to sign only to have him turn them down at the last minute.

Re: Who's the Rioch to Evatt's Neal?
I do remember it took an age to get the Evatt deal done, although I think that was mainly due to agreeing the compensation owed to Barrow (and I think it was, in relative terms, quite a minor figure).
