I don't doubt that Vic works hard, but he has no composure with the ball at his feet - at times he looks like his feet are on the wrong legs - the majority of his passes go nowhere near a white shirt.
Pass completion rate, is it?

Last night's win took our record this season when Vic starts to W10 D3 L2. That's 2.2PPG, which is 101pts over a season.

Our record when he doesn't start is W8 D4 L10 - 58pts over a season.

Clearly things are far more complicated than that but we do seem a better team with him in it.
Seem to recall similar stats being posted on here last season.

There's a lot of correlation going on there...

Hard to prove that.

IDK - the eye test suggests Vic loses the ball, but I remember the season Kevin Davies only retained possession with 46% of the passes he received - it's a hard row to hoe. Certainly I don't think McAtee has proved he should be in instead, while Dion didn't do much except exist on the fumes of his reputation.

Twice in a week he's played in games where we've had minority possession and won. Summat's going right. I don't doubt there are betters options out there and I wouldn't have wept bitterly if he'd gone to Turkey early in the window but I do think he's had a rough ride from some fans.

You find causation by looking at strong correlation with potential causal links. That's how the process works.

This. Very much. Despite the 'bok being a more jolly place than recently last night, there were still many audible comments about Sheehan being soft (despite being kicked from pillar to post, and putting himself in the positions to be kicked..), JDC end product being poor (despite 2 perfect last passes in the last 2 games) etc etc.

I wouldn't be surprised if some at the game were thinking it was Santos' fault we conceded.....

It's always been hard for humans to change their minds and admit it - and without sounding 400 years old I do think social media has hardened that tendency.

It's one of the reasons I fear for us if it's not Schumacher. Wouldn't take long for discontent to surface, even with Evatt a fading memory.

You joke, but they were.

When Forrester played a ball off his left inches past their man back to Southwood the bloke behind me said, "fecking hell! That's Santos teaching them to do that!"

Was he happier in the first half when Forrester tried to pass 10 yards to Jones and instead found the away dugout?

Jones played the ball backwards and he yelled "Yer fecking pussy!"

The ball got switched quickly over to the left, Northampton couldn't adjust and we broke the press to get out.

Exactly how you want it played, but "You could have done that with one pass! fecking useless!"

To be fair to him he's been consistent. He's even moaned about goals this season, because we scored them the wrong way.

I don’t think the reaction will be great if Schumacher has broken down unless they appoint Jules. I can’t see anyone else getting a positive reception really now. They’ve definitely made a mess of this if the faceless itks are remotely right (and this time I suspect they probably broadly are).

The bloke on here who you guys have told me works for the club told us all the process would take at least this long.

So why does it taking this long point to them making a mess of it?

I lost count of the number of times in 4.5 years someone hit a pass 15 yards across the back line under sod all pressure 5-10 yards behind the intended recipient or out of play. Course, if it's broadly the style of play you want to watch, then you probably ignore that bit, then and focus on your positives.

At the back, (not going to try and correlate any stats), we've felt a bit more solid and structured the last two games, from the Worthy seat, but it's been a while since we were expecting less than two goals against in 50% of our games, regardless of what style pleases your eye.

I mentioned Towler on here as a potential loanee, although the arrivak of Muprhy and the reinvigoration of others may now knock that down the list. Moxon was linked with us when at Carlisle, but that ship may now have sailed.

Not to be confused with any other ships, maybe starting with HMS, that clearly haven't sailed anywhere! :D
