People have apparently been editing wikipedia to place Therkelsen as a Bolton player.

Unfortunately, back in the real world, I believe he played for Godset today.

I fear it might struggle to catch on.

I wonder if SS will look to bring in a proper winger / wide man in this window ?, does anyone know if he played with wingers at either Plymouth or Stoke ?

Will Lankshear, who got a brief mention on here, as gone to West Brom on loan having impressed for Spurs recently. Not really important to us now Kion is here, but still.

Yes, he does play wingers when he has wingers. He plays with hybrid #10s when he has #10s.

When he plays a 4 at the back he likes width from his attackers and inverts one fullback to provide a midfield overload as needed. When he plays a 3 at the back the width comes from his wingbacks and his forwards play narrower.

I guess that's why they've let it be known they're also eyeing Connell.
Oh, Swans have absolutely leaked it to put pressure on the selling teams to sell low.

I’m sure someone else, much more knowledgeable than me will correct me here, but I can’t remember a transfer window as bizarre as this one for the teams around us:

Wycombe - Lose their manager, arguably their best midfielder and potentially their leading goal scorer
Wrexham - The money seems to have dried up, no one of any note signed so far?
Brum - Spend of £30 million plus so far, but aren’t running away with the league and no further marquee signings
Barnsley - Still haven’t got a goal scorer and might lose one or both of their best midfield players, one being their captain
Stockport - Leading goal scorer recalled and sent elsewhere.
Huddersfield - Sign two strikers everyone else in the league would probably have liked………only for them not to break their duck in the first few matches and Taylor is now out for up to two months.

A couple of decent squad changes and I think we might just be able to do this……..
Uma mesa para um, faz favor. Obrigado.

Wrexham signed two strikers yesterday, one of whom - Sam Smith from Reading - is said to have cost a couple of million.

...and the other is Jay Rodriguez, resumably not playing for buttons.

Bob has a point, though. It's been a time of great change in the realm. Interesting to watch it and see what happens.

Wrexham already had 37 strikers so I'm not sure where Parky is going to fit them all in?

Schumacher on transfers, stolen from the BN:
Schumacher says he will now discuss plans with sporting director Chris Markham and whether anything else will be done.

“I’m not sure at this moment in time,” he said. “I haven't really had that much to think about it, to be honest. I've been literally in the door for 24 hours “I had spoken to Chris in the week about plans and I'm really pleased that we managed to bring Kion (Etete) to the club.

“I think he'll be the profile of striker that we needed, so I’m delighted to get that bit of business done. And we'll see what happens over the next few days.”

Schumacher will now have a clear week ahead of his first home game against Crawley and insists he won’t dwell on the defeat.

“I feel so positive,” he said. “I think, as I said at the start of the week, why I was so excited to come here is because this club has got a real good chance of getting promoted. These players and the quality that's in the squad, it fills me full of confidence.

“And if we put that work rate in like we did today, play the way we did after such a short space of time, taking on the messages that we have given them, it's really pleasing.”

There have been a few hints knocking around about all this but even Marc Iles has said he’s not sure.

And I’d say that given Schuey has been here 24 hours more or less it’s a bit hard to draw too many conclusions.

Let’s just hope Markham gets a lot better at his job because right now he’s very very lucky to be in one as recruitment over the last few years has been very very poor.

Schumacher has inherited a decent squad of players but it's so un balanced that its hard for anyone to change things quickly - we have so many No10's but no out and out No9's, we have wing backs but no out and out wingers - we lack any real physicality in midfield, we have very little pace in the side. We still lack a proper captain / leader on the pitch.

Personally I think that it would be unbelievable if SS can this squad into the play offs - we don't look or play like a top 6 side IMO, we are still 2 or possibly 3 decent experienced players short at this time and he won't be able to bring them in within the next 48 hours.

He needs the full summer window before anyone can judge him.

I guess we'll find out if /how poor over the next 12 months. If Schumacher can get a good tune out of them then it won't have been very very poor. Personally I think its been a mixed bag of decent, poor and questionable. You are going to get some wrong, but for me the biggest problem is that we keep signing crocks and wonder why we have so many injured. The physio dept probably have mental health issues with the over work!
