Creeping Northwards. At home to Crawley Town, Sat 8th FEB 3-0'clock.

With a very small fan capacity of around 6000, the "Reds " are another "must not lose" southern league proper ups Crawley, should give us no cause for alarm, but that is becoming a familiar song with the Whites. Our league is still far from predictable and clubs below the top four are less predictable than the weather. Each game is still a lottery with bananas the fruit of choice with the bookies. Can our new track-suited leader set us back on recovery road after a sticky start?

The B.N. hasn't much to offer so it's all anybody's guess right now with who's fit and available a big factor. All still very Que sera sera with hope the relevant mood and COME ON YOU WHITES needed loud and clear. Go forth and conquer then.... :Jedi:

Someone check Brett Ormerod's not wasting away - he always looked like he needed a good meal.

Crawley are the crypto bros, aren't they. Fans could only buy a kit if they also bought an NFT (non-fungible token - remember them?). They hired Matthew Etherington and hailed his "appetitie for risk", referencing his well-known gambling addiction. Gave YouTubers a trial. Chairman in the dugout. And of course there's the whole John Yems episode - although he didn't last long under the crypto creeps (not many do - they've had five 'permanent' managers in less than three years).

I was approached by their current assistant manager, Louis Storey, in the gents at Wylam taproom in Newcastle last month.

Alas, no. He was asking about the Newcastle v Bromley cup tie. He'd played for Gateshead against Bromley last season before he and Rob Elliot took on the management of the club in the summer. They were then poached by Crawley in the autumn when Scott Lindsey jumped ship to MK Dons. Fascinating stuff, eh?

I thought you'd just outed Louis for a minute there. Unless asking about the cup tie is code and you still have.

Massive game this. Looking at upcoming fixtures this is firmly in category of absolutely must win if we are to retain hopes of play offs.

Schumacher’s first home game. Players looking to impress. Fans looking to be impressed.

Pressure but hopefully we can thrive off it now rather than shrink under it.

Yeah he's had a full week now and we've not had any new manager bounce. Gone by Easter if he don't win this!

I've actually given some thought to what the Schuey out thread might be called (I was very impressed with the "ianevattable sacking" pun). "Give Schumacher The Boot" is the best I've come up with so far. Needs a bit of work though.

Maybe since someone suggested calling him "Schuey (fcuking cheat Ed:) after the F1 driver!!!" you should go with "Give Schuey Das Boot?"

I’ve already said that this season is a free hit as far as Schuey is concerned. If we do anything it’s a bonus.

No pressure on him. There is on the team.

Next season is where I think he needs to have us looking like we could win promotion.

Yeah agree mate, he certainly needs the benefit of influencing a transfer window....unless he does a Sammy Lee - I mean we're 19 points off Champions and 19 points off relegation spots. :-)

The kind of game, last couple aside, that we always won under Evatt. I'm far more optimistic for the upcoming games against Birmingham, Blackpool, Wigan etc with Schuey at the helm. No idea what will happen here though. Hopefully a feast of attacking, purposeful football with the brake off. 2-0 win.

It sounds like the players have been ripping into each other on the training ground, keen to impress and with fresh ideas from the coaching team and the crowd up for it, Home win for me.

It’s unlikely we’ll start fully clicking offensively yet, but I’d expect us to look better than at Reading , and defensively we’re already doing well. I fancy a Bolton win to nil - maybe 2-0.

Lineup wise I’d go the same as last week, but Schön in for Murphy and Matete in for Thomason. Lolos potentially in for Randall depending upon how they’ve trained this week.
