Not a Leap Year, who says so? Away to Reading , Sat, Feb 1st 3-0'clock.

Where fellow sufferers gather to share the pain, longing and unrequited transfer requests that make being a Wanderer what it is...

I think where it becomes problematic is when the mantra is followed with not much nous. As a one off most folks would probably say there's a bit of player cock up, regardless of which player it was, but as fans seeing repeat occurrences, along with quite a few "near misses," that starts to stick. I'm not against us playing from the back, per se, but when we're fannying and they've dropped off the press, so the much vaunted gap ain't likely to open and it's like watching a dull chess match, it becomes incumbent on us to move it up the field differently, and we can look a bit lost, ponderous or downright dull at that, when the oppo aren't graciously falling for our well laid trap. Sometimes that can happen with us 2-0 up. Their team changes how they're playing and we wait for them to carry on accepting their punishment. It's not a presciption to aimlessly hoof it either, just a bit more plan B than more plan A. Maybe we call it adaptability...

One thing I particularly do not like is playing it out short to the back three them being pressed and then deciding to go long. Darby cut this out but it happened a few times on Saturday. I think it’s particularly poor because it simply leaves your midfield too deep and your strikers end up with nobody around them in an impossible position and more often than not it comes back and there are then big gaps to exploit.

I think if you are being pressed you either go short and have to be good enough to play through their press or you do what Darby did and push up the whole team and kick it long. Because yes you have to fight for possession but you’ve got more chance when your midfield isn’t back in your defensive third and it’s also a lot less risky. I feel that contributed to some of the transitional game on Saturday. We could have slowed it down and gone longer at times, if we didn’t feel we could play through them. But rolling it out to a defender under pressure and them trying to chip into the strikers should be banned imo.

Bax charged with acting in an "improper manner" during the pre-match warm up for this. No-one seems to have a clue why.

Is that a euphemism?!
