Creeping Northwards. At home to Crawley Town, Sat 8th FEB 3-0'clock.

Where fellow sufferers gather to share the pain, longing and unrequited transfer requests that make being a Wanderer what it is...

Sets us up perfectly for next week. Let's keep that momentum going...
You can build a club culture on the back of those kinds of results.
Quite. Maybe the good news will even continue...

We're getting a new mascot?

Thanks for the seat on the couch, Blu.

What a game to miss.

Sometimes football offers up justice. Utterly disgusting from Crawley and delighted to came back.

How fitting that the winner was a) deep into an extended injury time period, and b) an own goal.

Coy. Very coy. Does it involve anyone with the word Sheikh in their name?

Blimey, I need a lie down after that………but first I need to visit the neighbours to apologise for the language over the last 57 minutes or so.

Defensively, that was a shambles. First half, up front was also shambolic. McAtee can’t seem to look down the line and Randall……….a million quid?? Really?

If we’re starting with wingers, we have to start with Vic for me. Lots of positives - Tutu and Sheehan outstanding, Morley great. I’m not sure GT gets back into midfield anytime soon after today? I’m now waiting to hear what happened to our loan man from Cardiff in the warm up.

I’m elated, but flat at the same time. Cognitive dissonance I think they call it.

I cant remember when last I have had this kind of enjoyment watching us play. Unbelievable get up out of your seat fun. This was great entertainment. Finaly a coach who can change things around to win a football game based on what is happening on the field and not the pre-planned for the 60th minute forward swap.

Man of the match was Tutu. Unplayable.

Wow what a fecking game, like a cup final. It's the setup and formation I've wanted all season, and lots of fans have been calling for. playing Tutu and schon as wingers with fullbacks behind makes the best of them, gives us width and allows us to win the midfield. Sheehan and Morley had time and space and it showed, Sheehan was unreal. So was Tutu, schon, and Morley. You could pick anyone of those for MotM. This really felt like a turning point, people have mentioned turning points all season but this time, I think with Collins playing 9, and if someone can make the 10 position there's then we can go up this season. Randal was awful, again, and macatee isn't a 9 at all. If we can get Collins in this and someone makes the 10 there's, whether Randall gets better or it's Lolos, mactee, thomason, even Matete someone, anyone, if we can make that 10 position work, keep tutu fit, and Collins at 9 then promotion is a real possibility. Brilliant stuff.

The thing is that I don’t see Vic or McAtee having the quality up front we need. It’s whether you want someone who can run and press in McAtee or someone who offers more aerial threat and hold up play in Vic. But neither are really if we are honest good enough for what we paid for them. Not close. They can’t do what Crawley’s strikers did - they don’t have that quality. So I think what either and both need to do is focus on really grafting and offering a focal point. The only justification for their inclusion is their work rate and letting them bring our better players into the game.

In fairness we probably played our best when we went to a back three.

I was out and about today and am gutted to have missed it.

As a technical Luddite, is there any way I can watch the whole game back? I don’t feel like the 2 minute sky sport highlight reel is going to cut it this time.

I can confirm that after a quick treatment from yours truly, Lofty was fine to play out the 2nd half.

I know this don't belong on the football thread, but England very unfancied to beat France, nicked the lead with about 10s left...the ticker is working overtime, extra time and a few other bits too. Adrenaline. You don't get it from a spreadsheet...

Was that the most ‘Riochball’ like performance you will see in the modern game? Width. Crosses. Numbers forward. Midfield emptied to commit forwards. Two slightly shaky centre halves exposed by pace…

It feels pretty much like the modern Bruce equivalent. Especially the late subs to just go all out attack in a game we could still quite easily have lost as much as won.
