I think footballs awash with players and managers doing proper cuntish things and getting away with so long as they're producing

It is but those people have a track record of success. You can get away with being whatever if you are successful. If your record managerially is equivalent of Phil Neal’s you’d best be an outstanding guy who brings the whole club together….boltonboris wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2025 3:11 pmI think footballs awash with players and managers doing proper cuntish things and getting away with so long as they're producing

Huddersfield fans ripping up bedsheets, sharpening pitchforks and lighting the torches, once they've safely put their sheep to bed. They are not a happy bunch right now
Oh and Charles is coming in for some stick as well. Some of them want a refund

Okay, so you don't like him. He's gone so how about just wishing him well wherever he ends up.?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2025 1:29 pm
Let’s be honest. I’m not a big fan of Rovers but they are leagues and leagues above bottom feeders like Evatt.
Their fans already have him on the ‘not in a million years please god’ lists. And rightly so.
He’s league two at best.

They would indeed, my friend.TonyDomingos wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2025 8:25 amTonight's games:

Barnsley are now 7pts behind us (for comparison, we're only 8pts behind 3rd-placed Wrexham). Having won four league games on the bounce in late Dec / early Jan, they've since gone LLLDLLW, a run that raised loud questions about Darrell Clarke's suitability for ongoing employment. The win was in last weekend's South Yorkshire derby at Rotherham, but Nobby will hope to beat them tonight.
Huddersfield are weird - in their last six home games they're W0 D3 L3, F1 A4, which again is wildly unpopular with the local yokels. Away from home it's very different - they've won 6 of the last 8, scoring 16 – even in the two they didn't win, they scored twice each time.
Orient will have known that this trio of trips to Wrexham, Bolton and Birmingham would test their mettle, and they may have had us down as the easiest job. Wrong! But what's more important is whether they get back on the horse thereafter - still plenty left in the season, and we could do without both them and Charlton maintaining momentum.

I would very much like to see a league table that took into consideration the form of the teams that they were facing at the time.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2025 10:12 amOrient will have known that this trio of trips to Wrexham, Bolton and Birmingham would test their mettle, and they may have had us down as the easiest job. For instance, Exeter's 2-2 draw with Wycombe came after Wycombe's 10th successive win in all competitions (8 straight in the league, 2 FA Cup). That draw is probably a way tougher ask than Blackpool's equivalent fixture at Wycombe where they drew 1-1 after Wycombe had the form DDWDWLW. Playing a team with WWWWWWW is far harder a prospect than playing a team with mixed fortunes DDWDWLW.
Some teams may just get really unlucky when facing opposition sides.
I remember seeing the fixture list in our last Premiership season, that was ridiculous:
QPR, Man City, Liverpool, Man Utd, Norwich, Arsenal, Chelsea, Wigan
Sometimes the timing of things can have an impact.
Teams playing us now, will have a much hard time of things than teams playing us at the tail end of Evatt's tenure.

Absolutely, and the table right now shows why it's such a shame we waited until we'd given Charlton three points at ours (as well as theirs) before wielding the axe

By the way, Reading have gone into a 'period of exclusivity' with a potential buyer.

Not to wish our old purgatory on anyone else, but if you could leave it a couple of months lads, that'd be great
(Obviously they won't be able to bolster their squad this season but a successfull takeover would be a huge morale boost for a club currebtly only one win behind us)

And it's Orient v Charlton on Saturday. The ideal outcome would be both sides fielding ineligible players and a mass brawl at the final whistle leading to points docked.

More realistically, I'd thought that if we did manage to win our early kickoff we'd almost certainly be overhauled by teatime. But if the Lahndahners draw - quite likely, I'd guess - after we've scooped all 3pts, then 6th place will FINALLY BE OURS

Half times:
0-0 (but Orient down to 10)
0-1 (with their only shot on target)
2-0 (good ol' Wiggin)
I've had the pleasure of seeing Antoni Sarcevic have a goal ruled out for offside this evening. I'm indifferent to the vast majority of our ex-players, but, for some reason, I really don't like him.

Re: Division Three, 2024/25
Good results tonight - Barnsley - can’t be worried about them, too far behind us to worry about.
Now a game in hand over two play off current placers and would go above both if we won it.

Re: Division Three, 2024/25
My boss is an Orient fan and was whinging to me about their sending off last night, so I had a watch of the highlights. It was definitely a red, and I noticed that the ref was Martin Woods, who was in my year at school. Good lad!

Re: Division Three, 2024/25
There's a chance - not a large one, but a chance - that Huddersfield (and Duff and Dion) could be below the dots by Saturday teatime. Can't say I'd weep.
(They play Stevenage on Saturday, but then host Wrexham midweek. As was noted, everybody plays everybody twice...)

I see our old friend Tobias Phoenix is alleged to have offered Crawly fans a fight in the car park after their loss to Cambridge on Saturday
