A Roving, A Roving. Away to Bristol, Tues Mar 11th 19-45
Pirates off the starboard bow!. Stand by for boarders.
Fresh from a tasty and satisfying encounter with Burton, the Supers stay away from home and take on Bristol on Tuesday evening, another team who have just stepped clear of relegation. Can Mr Schumacher's jolly boys repel the Pirates and catch a fair wind homeward bound?
Team-wise, Just a point re-Joel Randall, he's been used to being part of a team coming forward and having space and time to think, something he won't get for Bolton against the sort of team he came from. I'm confident he'll improve once he adjusts his game, because he's a quality player. Give him time.
It's getting to the stage now where the question is who to leave out rather than choose as a
starting eleven. The problem will surely magnify once Santos, Dempsey and Johnson return, meantime, let's just go with the flow and enjoy it.

Schumacher said post-match at Burton that Johnston was left out pretty much as a precaution with a tightish hamstring, much like Forrester against Brum. He more or less said he'd be back available for Bristol before slightly correcting himself with a "probably" caveat.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Sat Mar 08, 2025 7:40 pmThe problem will surely magnify once Santos, Dempsey and Johnson return, meantime, let's just go with the flow and enjoy it.
Also worth noting that Forino and Mendes Gomes were left out of the XI today so they'll be ready to roll again if need be. Then there's players like Schon, Randall and Lolos eager to prove where they step in. It's all good.

All good apart from up front. But let’s see what Lolos can do there Tuesday I think. Can’t keep flogging McAtee and Collins. And I think Lolos needs a chance.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Mar 08, 2025 7:53 pmSchumacher said post-match at Burton that Johnston was left out pretty much as a precaution with a tightish hamstring, much like Forrester against Brum. Wow, what a set of results it was for us today. Annoyed I couldn’t watch the match, but very much enjoying the highlights and reaction videos.

I just did. Their fans in meltdown. Duff needs to go so does the owner. They really dislike Charles and feel that we've taken the piss by getting a £1M for himThe_Gun wrote: ↑Sat Mar 08, 2025 9:44 pmWow, what a set of results it was for us today. Does anyone know if it'll be pay-on-the-day for this? I'm tempted to make the trip from south London (which rules out buying from the ticket office).

I’m also thinking of making the trip if pay on the day is available. Will hopefully be announced tomorrow, I’ll chuck a comment on here when/if it is in case you’re not on Twitter TDTonyDomingos wrote: ↑Sun Mar 09, 2025 7:40 pmDoes anyone know if it'll be pay-on-the-day for this? Thanks, Brommers. I left twitter a little while ago!

CMG, Forino, Randall, Schön, Lolos and Matete (who Schuey doesn’t seem to like) to come in from the start?
Feels like squad rotation will be absolutely key here, especially given that Gas put in a huge shift on Saturday and will likely also have a lot of tired legs.

Schumacher spoke highly of Matete and seems to be giving everybody a fair crack. And as noted we'll need rotation to be Bang At It on Saturday. All the lads you mention should see some decent minutes tomorrow.The_Gun wrote: ↑Mon Mar 10, 2025 11:06 amCMG, Forino, Randall, Schön, Lolos and Matete (who Schuey doesn’t seem to like) to come in from the start?

Morley, Matete, Randall to start tomorrow?
Morley does seem a bit of a mainstay at the mo.. Been great since he came back. Wonders what a loan can do for a player, as already said countless times elsewhere.

Pay on the day now confirmed. Unfortunately for me, life has intervened and I'm no longer able to make the journey.

850 tickets sold so far.

Johnstone not available for tomorrow night. I don't think SS will stick with Murphy purely from a fitness point of view. Maybe Forino to come in with Toal shifting to LCB. That's if he plays 5 at the back. Anyone's guess to formations these days

Not sure fitness is Murphy's problem - Schumacher mentioned a lack of concentration sometimes, which I guess you could argue might be increased with fatigue except that he said it was often early in the game... and it's probably easier for him to play LCB than LB, where we'd probably need him in a back four due to lack of alternatives to play there - unless he trusts Schon....?

Schumacher today:
“When you've got a squad that's as strong as this one then you have to utilise it, you can’t just keep flogging the same 11-12 players every week, it just doesn’t work. This is a tough division, so if you want the same energy levels in every game when you need to make sure your players are in peak physical condition, so that is going to come into our thinking in the next few games, for certain.”

I'm pleased to read there might be some rotation and that there is a focus on maintaining energy levels.
I got the impression on Saturday that for a few, tonight's fixture might just be a match too far.

Baxter, CMG, Randall, Forino, lolas, Jones, Matete haven't got much of a run recently. Southwood, Toal, Tutu, Morley, Thomo, McAtee, Collins, Cogley could all get a rest for the important game on Saturday. I dont expect Schuey to make more than 4 changes to the starting 11 for continuity, so which 4 will it be.
