Worth a watch seeing our B-team get a run out at Everton's new stadium. Should be interesting to see whether Santos, Etete and Dempsey get a run out.

Interesting line up. Will be good to see how the first teamers do and will be interesting seeing the likes of Tutte coming back on the pitch.

Match won't be finishing, they mentioned pre-match that they need to end the match early with a fire alarm. So who knows how long the match will go on for.

I'm guessing 80 mins.

Playing very slowly. Have a lot of possession going nowhere. Thanks to Hutchinson we are not 2 down. He is looking impressive. Matete looking the worse for us. Giving up the ball multiple times. Great to see Dempsay back. Will give us some energy in midfield when back to full firness. Lolos very involved but a not very exciting game.

I said it'd be interesting. It isn't. Glorified training exercise.

Everything at 60% from the looks of it, so the games not really got going. Everton highlights have come from Matete's mistakes, he's doing himself no favours here. Hutchinson made a really good save early on and a decent defensive block at the end of the half from Dempsey's shot keeping the score level.

Feels like CMG is playing too deep to stretch the opposition.

Hutchinson and the two CBs either side of Santos, Hogan and O'Toole, have been superb. The first teamers have been poor (bar maybe Dempsey) - Etete and Santos get a pass as they're coming back from injuries but Jones, Matete, CMG and Lolos should be doing much better.

Watched 6 seconds of the half.

Matete tried to take on a man in midfield and they broke and almost scored.

Sums up Matete's half. He's nowhere near the starting lineup on this performance.

Hard to tell if he's struggling because he's trying to do too much and not getting the movement around him or whether he's just performing badly. Either way, Matete has looked better before.

There's been a couple of breaks from Matete's mistakes.

Full video will be up on Youtube if you fancy watching it in the future. Might want to consider a less painful way to spend your time though.

Dempsey, Etete and Santos off. This seems more like a B team match now. CMG and Matete left on, hopefully to make amends for that first half.

Didn't think the club would've been able to do that. Unless its a certain amount of minutes over two fixtures?

Either way, can't begrudge them from giving him a run out. Lads probably at the side of the pitch begging to get on given the occassion.

It's 1-0 to the Toffees. Deserved. We've not really gone at them.

Hutchinson looks good enough to be our reserve keeper or get a League Two loan next season.

Did they wait until Everton scored then call an evacuation? 😂😂

Not disagreeing with your view but is it telling that he hasn’t been loaned above the sixth tier yet? Six to four is quite a jump. He’s not that young either - he’s technically now overage, although that matters less for keepers.

Not to decry his ability, and successive managers have trusted him around the first team, just urging caution. I’d be happy for him to go on loan to say Salford or Accy if we get the sense he’d learn a lot; I’d be a lot less confident if Baxter left and Hutch became Southwood’s deputy.

Yeah, that was obviously a snap judgment based on his performance in a meaningless game against kids. However, his distribution looked pretty good, and I’m not sure Southwood would have made all those saves.

He looks like he has a future in the professional ranks, but maybe it’s time for him to go and establish himself as the number one at another club.

There is an argument as to whether we can make savings by having Luke as back up keeper.
