Just seen that. What a mess.
Re: Financiers, investors and white knights: What next for FV?
It doesn’t feel sustainable does it. I await some analysis from someone more adept at company accounts to tell me that it’s all ok and not as bad as the headline figure makes out.
If it is a genuine £11m loss, it does beg the question of how the hell we’re meant to survive. It doesn’t feel like we’re hugely extravagant spenders and we get amongst the highest crowds in the division.

It is, it's quite staggering and completely unsustainable.
Even worse when you see absolutely zero improvement in performances, quality on the pitch etc. some of these players are stealing a living.

We all know Wrexham’s revenue will be boosted by tv and commercial. But their revenue was £5M higher than ours on lower crowds. That’s quite the gap. Their previous revenue was half ours.jimbo wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 4:02 pmIt doesn’t feel sustainable does it. It’s pretty clear that for all the good intentions and well meaning people we’ve been run by folk who in a football sense are complete amateurs.
I only hope it improves but I fear it’s going to take a hell of a turnaround.
To make such a loss and fail to go up still is really very disappointing.

I’m also not confident that the ones we’ve signed in that accounting period (Collins, Forrester, CMG, Dan) would be worth anywhere near what we spent on them. It doesn’t feel like too long ago that the plan was to buy players who we could make a profit on. Who was the last signing we could realistically flip for a profit?

Evatt must have been a bloody good salesman to convince SB to give him everything he wanted either that or she's more naive than she would have us believe.jimbo wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 4:14 pmI’m also not confident that the ones we’ve signed in that accounting period (Collins, Forrester, CMG, Dan) would be worth anywhere near what we spent on them. I'm not an accountant so there may be some hidden good news or indicators, however that loss is staggering especially when you think of the money / transfer fee's paid out in this financial year for the likes of Randall, McAtee, Schon etc. offset by the money we got for Charles. For a league 1 club with little chance of promotion this year the debt is quite staggering IMO.

The loss this year is almost certainly going to be higher than 11.2M I’d expect. And we are likely to finish outside the top 6 for that. Has it ever been worse from a financial/performance perspective? Not that I recall.Bertie Wooster wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 4:22 pmEvatt must have been a bloody good salesman to convince SB to give him everything he wanted either that or she's more naive than she would have us believe.jimbo wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 4:14 pmI’m also not confident that the ones we’ve signed in that accounting period (Collins, Forrester, CMG, Dan) would be worth anywhere near what we spent on them. I can't be arsed looking as stuff like that bores me, but what were the players wages as a total for that period?

I’m sure I read in the article earlier total wages had gone from 12 to 16 million. It was about 75% of the 21m turnoverboltonboris wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 4:31 pmI can't be arsed looking as stuff like that bores me, but what were the players wages as a total for that period?

Chances of anyone getting a return on their fan bond are looking slimmer aren’t they. Still can’t believe that scheme was allowed.

Worth noting that Wrexham’s wage bill in the same period was £11M. Ours is somewhat inflated by the hotel but it’s likely we paid more in player wages than Wrexham in the same period.
All the ‘we aren’t competitive’ stuff people tried to give out to excuse Evatt - I’m pretty angry to be honest. It’s worse than even I knew it was.

Re: Financiers, investors and white knights: What next for FV?
I heard recently that our player wage bill was just under £8M ?
Re: Financiers, investors and white knights: What next for FV?
Wrexham isn't a good comparison.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 7:02 pmWorth noting that Wrexham’s wage bill in the same period was £11M. Ours is somewhat inflated by the hotel but it’s likely we paid more in player wages than Wrexham in the same period.

Wrexham were the division below.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 7:02 pmWorth noting that Wrexham’s wage bill in the same period was £11M. Ours is somewhat inflated by the hotel but it’s likely we paid more in player wages than Wrexham in the same period.

Yes I know but everyone said they were paying top end league one wages from non league.The_Gun wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 7:26 pmWrexham were the division below.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 7:02 pmWorth noting that Wrexham’s wage bill in the same period was £11M. Re: Financiers, investors and white knights: What next for FV?
I don't think "everyone" said. £11m pretty chunky in L2...but for sure there was some narrative that suggested they were "way ahead," like Portsmouth were supposed to be...
Re: Financiers, investors and white knights: What next for FV?
Not for the whole squad. Mullin turned down championship offers to go there. They upped Palmer's league one salary. Foster wasn't playing for fun. That was all in non league.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 8:43 pmYes I know but everyone said they were paying top end league one wages from non league.The_Gun wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 7:26 pmWrexham were the division below.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 7:02 pmWorth noting that Wrexham’s wage bill in the same period was £11M. Not sure I remember anyone saying that on Pompey. Weds, Derby and Birmingham yes (and rightly so). Wrexham spending top end L1 a division below and have since brought in plenty more.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 9:06 pmI don't think "everyone" said. £11m pretty chunky in L2...but for sure there was some narrative that suggested they were "way ahead," like Portsmouth were supposed to be...
