Simply have to win games like this.

Oh well, let’s hope we can free up some money for Schuey in the summer and see what him and the new recruitment bod can do.

Some poor individual decision making and lack of finishing has cost us.

Etete is absolute wank.

How on earth have we lost that.

If it's one game, it's one of those things. But you cannot concede 58 goals and lose 15 games and expect to go up. Needs sorting.

Doesn’t get much more frustrating than that. Poor decision making, poor finishing, poor officiating, poor opposition.

Thats the game gone surely.

Average finish for a team that loses the play off final is about 7th apparently. So us finishing outside the play offs probably sounds about right.

Can't concede poor goals and not score.

Well played Bolton. Que sera sera. Effort levels were there tonight. Cutting edge, not so much.

By far the better side. 0-1 defeat.

On a more sour note. What's the point in Etete and Randall. Both came on and did nothing of note. Really need to find a way of using them. Might as well have kept Thomason on.

Really disappointing result, fair play to Dawson and the Rotherham defence, it's not like we didn't have a go.

We'll be fortunate to nick a playoff place now, but who knows and if not I'd fancy us to push on with Schumacher in charge.

Reminds me of another Evatt performance. All the ball, more shots, terrible finishing, crap goal conceded and a bad result.

Felt like it was going to be one of those nights and it promptly delivered. Unlucky Bolton.

Sign of a poor team, playing well and losing?

Those stats will look ridiculous.

Can’t knock the performance but you have to a) score more from the chances we create and b) defend far better.

Both of those are failings across the season and tonight shown in microcosm. Need better goalscorers and defenders in the summer.

And yes - play offs is done now. Forget it.

We give Sheehan enough shit for his defensive efforts but he got back well then to keep it 1-0.
I will say as an absolute positive for the first time in 4 years. Great defensive positioning, Josh!

Can't fault effort, finishing quality not great.

Are we paying Etete or is he YTS?

Imagine having someone like Cosgrove on the bench for one or two of those 58 crosses.

Not why, but how? How can you play that well and create so many chances and still lose? Their defending was very efficient, goalie won them the game. (and committed) but our attack shots were almost desperation. We had to hit the post, it was one of those nights, but play-off chances was almost certainly lost a while back. With a little good fortune we could have won 6-1

The neutrals will only see the result and care naught for the tactics. I feel sick.. :vomit:

I'd take Peter Crouch not even joking, I recon he would have scored tonight.

I mean anyone other than Etete and Randall two of the worst signings we’ve ever seen. Schumacher needs a proper summer anyway and space to bring in some better players. There is zero chance this lot could win the play offs even if we’d managed to get there. We are not one of the best sides in this league.
