Rotherham's boss admitted they were second best to us, but they got the points, so what benefit? Another Que-Sera-Sera magic affair, or a glorified Punch and Judy show. Feels to me like we should fight to the last whistle. That's what it's all about surely? If I think otherwise, why bother supporting ? If we end the season obviously trying, great. We support (look up the meaning of the word) the club and players we have otherwise we're just Manchester United fans in miniature.

Barnsley seem to be having a slightly worse season than they have recently. After the playoffs last time you could say similar to Bolton this season, but a bit worse from the table.

From a footballing point of view, I'm not against Baxter playing in goal but I miss the score predictions. Maybe someone else can step up!?

When was the last draw? Not for a while it feels like. I'll go with 0-1. Randell from the halfway line, absolute screamer. Santos returns and it feels like last season again. Actually, the defence is so solid it'd have to be 0-3. Randell, McAtee and Morley.

Could be anything this. If we play like we did on Tuesday we'll win, if we sink back to Evatt ball we'll lose. I'll be optimistic and say 2-1 win.

I just meant last season in terms of position in the table. The change was long overdue. I've been thinking about the "squad's too big" comments from January, for me that's my one "beef". Thinking about it, it's probably a good thing for the long term that no new players came in, but you can't win the league with a small squad so that comment doesn't make sense to me. Especially with games coming thick and fast and injuries, and the front two having to play most of the minutes. I'm sure there was discussion at the time and wheels were already in motion, no money, etc, but I wish he hadn't used those words!

The league table isn't a bad guide at this stage. We win more than we lose but it's only 57% to 43% (horrendous). On any given Saturday we can pretty much do either. Gonna toss a coin.

I completely get what you are saying but I don’t think a single poster on this forum believes we are going up this season. Maybe they do and I’d be surprised but I just think we all know deep down it’s not happening.

Still very much "Best laid schemes of mice and men, oft gang aglay", as the man said (Robbie Burns ?) , with no money back guarantees. They'll be desperate to (im)prove points and we'll have to be right up for it. Not much more we can do than give our best. The rest is clear as treacle till 5-o clock tomorrow. I think there's a chance of us going up. In the same way that there's a chance for Reading, Huddersfield, Charlton, Stockport, Wycombe and Weexham. Yes, the chances are higher for most of those. But we're in with a shout.

There was a sense of certainty that we were going up last season, and we saw how that ended up. Meanwhile, Oxford, who stumbled into the playoffs at the last minute from a similar position to us right now, got promoted and aren't doing awfully in the league above right now.

There was a sense of certainty we’d fall short last season imho. And thus it played out.

You can simply look at the crowd the last two home games and how it’s felt. You can sort of tell when people think you are in a run in where you are in with a real chance and those crowds were both quite quiet and muted. Not a huge buzz of anticipation even after beating Wigan.

There is a mathematical chance we go up for sure. But don’t think we will? If someone said you’ve got to bet your house on the outcome and it’s your gut feeling - I can’t think many would bet the house on promotion.

I can't think that many would bet £50 never mind their house. This current team do not have the character or characters to get promoted.

I really hope that I'm proved wrong, but I certainly fancy us to finally get out of League 1 next season, when SS hopefully brings in some steel, some pace, some physicality and some proper leaders.

Yeah it’s all about next season for me. Excited to see what Schumacher can do. I just hope he’s given the right tools and resources. I think it’s a totally different situation next season. It’s a shame he came in so late. Even a few weeks earlier and I think we’d have had a chance this season. We just needed different January signings - even just a proper striker might have been enough to give us a shot.

We can all say its about next season for getting promoted and progressing the club, but as it stands we've still got a chance this season.

It's an outside chance, but lets hope they give it a damn good go. Last season we should've gone up, this season we don't deserve to go up. So swings and round abouts lets hope they do it this season.
