Green means go...Away to Lincoln , Mon 21st Apr. 3-0'clock.
Lincoln Green is a colour (they actually play in red) vaguely related with Robin Hood legends and next on the agenda. Too late for us to save the day, but can we salvage a scrap of pride against the Imps who trail us by eight points right now? All the songs sung, excuses made and blame fingers pointed, so naught but some guts and a scrap of pride left and the Whites fans are justifiably less than ecstatic. Can't even think of much to say except a belated COME ON YOU WHITES, and even that is hope clinging desperately onto a punctured life belt.

Doubtful we see an XI of kids and it feels like a stupid notion. Our - ahem - "grown ups" are generally better. And there's still only 3 pts between us and 6th although it feels a long way off. As much as I like the notion of levelling it to the foundations, I doubt that'll happen.

I'd start Abimbola. Why not? Clear from fact that McAtee was dropped in favour of Lolos from the start, and then that he spent the first half playing on the right, that John has rather run out of rope. Young Dave showed, at the very least, a desire to get stuck in.
Wingers for next season are a must. Until then, we've really got no option but to play either Collins and Lolos/Dempsey wide, or to play JDC and Murphy as wing-backs.
Midfield has to include Tomo and Matete, probably Dempsey too.

He’s already mooted in an interview that he ‘might play some of the kids on Monday they might show some fight’ or words to that effect.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Apr 19, 2025 3:02 pmDoubtful we see an XI of kids and it feels like a stupid notion. Game will be meh.
It appears the season went as the January window closed.
Players saying they're injured, yes I'm looking at you Randal.
Socks up performance from that mentality? Doubt it.
Anything from here will be more frustration as we will all be wondering why now and not in all the other games.
Chuck a few young lads in and give them the chance to show these pros what it means to pull on that Bolton shirt.

Yes. I listened to it. Let's put the u8's out as opposed to the spineless. Got it. I mean he clearly said that not to try and get any sort of reaction...but if there are B team player staking a claim, great. There's trying to balance and being a knob. I remember when we had zero choice but to play the kids...what was the score v Accrington (I think) 8-1?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Apr 19, 2025 4:10 pmHe’s already mooted in an interview that he ‘might play some of the kids on Monday they might show some fight’ or words to that effect.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Apr 19, 2025 3:02 pmDoubtful we see an XI of kids and it feels like a stupid notion. Not sure I've been less enthused about a Wanderers fixture than this for some time. That night match a few years back, post covid, big Wanderers following and a Sarcevic winner seems so so long ago and the happy optimism long since vanished.

We all feel with almost 100% certainty that we will finish outside the top 6. But..we still have a chance so it would be irresponsible for Schuey to throw in the kids from the start. Are they that good? If they were, why were they not playing before now?
We have to still give it a shot. The players either have to show that they have balls after the "soft" label by the managers or provide further confirmation to potential suitors that they are simply non league players.

Has to be a reason better than just selection turn or minutes allowed. You don't play to lose however bad things are, so pick the strongest we have and get first goal. Fighting up hill and not scoring has become the norm for us, so the answer isn't hard to look for. Anybody chosen has to be on merit and earned, and that's surely decided on training performance alone, other wise it's like picking the Grand National winner with a pin. In the words of an old song:
"Give me some men who are stout-hearted men and will fight for the cause they adore,
Just give me ten who are stout-hearted men and I'll soon give you ten thousand more!.
Get in there and fight..

Wanderers Women show the way and take their League title with a 3-0 win.(Bolton News) We just ask questions that only actions and not words can answer. Surely we can't end our season with a whimper of self pity when guts and a roar of defiance are needed. Mr Schumacher apart from selecting names, has little part in how the team perform. Where's the Bolton "Ivanhoe" who'll fight the savage foe and restore our pride? COME ON YOU WHITES.! Get amongst them and win.

Hell of a message to the benched Randall, Lolos and Etete (and to an extent McAtee; I'll exclude the minutes-managed Dempsey and the doesn't-play-in-their-position Santos): "Watch these kids and learn from them."
Re: Green means go...Away to Lincoln , Mon 21st Apr. 3-0'clock.
Quite interested to watch this one now.
In theory a big unit like Dave A should be an ideal foil for Collins, but perhaps it’s still a little soon to expect too much.

That is a marker and a half to the seniors - particularly Randall, McAtee, Etete and (to a lesser extent) Dempsey. Damning from Schumacher.

Yeah, and in fairness, a bit more pragmatic than "drop the lot." Applause...

"Never change a winning side" doesn't necessarily mean you need to change a losing one. Not so much a sign of "I know you can do better", more a no confidence gesture from Mr Schu. Only time will tell which is which. . Que Sera.....

Was hoping those 2 youngsters would get a shot. Sharples looked tidy last time and be nice to see how he does again. Big Dave gives us something different, we've just got to temper our expectations that he's suddenly going to be Super Kev.
Re: Green means go...Away to Lincoln , Mon 21st Apr. 3-0'clock.
This very much screams of Schuey playing people he thinks will actually give a shit.
Last game, there was a clear indication that people didn't give a shit, and this is Schuey's way of calling it out.
This is clearly not our best side, but this is clearly an indication of if you put in the effort, you'll get the start (at least as far as Abimbola goes).
