Matete has tried but there is something about him and I can’t put my finger on it that I don’t particularly enjoy watching. He’s neither physical nor does he produce enough in and around the box. A bit of an in between sort. Schumacher didn’t use him too often at Plymouth. I’m not really sure why we’d sign him based on what I’ve seen.

What was that body shape at all? Looked like it amazed him to be asked to head it.

(McGinlay's wrong - Markham/Wagner's Huddersfield got promoted to the Premier on a negative GD)

A defeat today would be 6 points from a possible 27 in the run in for promotion.
I want to go into next season with a bit of positivity. We started this one so negatively, it'd be nice for a good off season.

Yeah, it'd be a surprise. I understand why we signed him - more of a ratter, still good in possession, serial promotee - but it's not worked out and we all move on.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 4:47 pmMatete has tried but there is something about him and I can’t put my finger on it that I don’t particularly enjoy watching. Stockport winning, could be 4 teams going for 2nd on final day.

Don't think that was a red. Doesn't really matter now anyway

Could be, but Wrexham are 5pts clear of them. Parky will see them through.
James Collins MOTM. Thanks Sharon.

Referee getting his ever sought after chance of a Bolton red card. JDC off.
Re: Green means go...Away to Lincoln , Mon 21st Apr. 3-0'clock.
JDC sent off. Unfortunate, he pulled out of the challenge, but it was too late. Definitely a yellow.

Charlton at Wrexham next weekend. Now that's tasty.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 4:51 pmCould be, but Wrexham are 5pts clear of them. Parky will see them through.

Seven defeats in nine games is appalling. Don’t think Evatt ever had a run this bad.

The softest team in our history don't half pick up a lot of yellows and daft reds.

I think Thomason, JDC, Matete, Forino are good enough for a squad looking for promotion. Beyond that they're all bobbins. I would be happy to get rid of everyone else. Ref has been heavily biased all game, prick.

Wonder who'll play RWB in absentio JDC. Jones? Surely today has proven he's no RCB.

Well that was poo (again). Couch as comfortable as ever and much appreciated (although I do sometimes wish you didn't keep making it available so I didn't have the opportunity to endure these afternoons....)

Looking on the positive side I do not think that ending the season like this is necessarily the worst thing in the world. It is a big reality call for the club. And there will be no hms piss the league stuff. We’ve lacked application in the past few seasons and if this doesn’t prompt a summer of pure hard work in the market hard work getting a squad properly fit and then a team that works ten times harder than we’ve seen in the last few years - then I don’t know what we’d do that would.

ooooh is it. Well, Chuks Aneke ain't playing - he's just been sent off at 4-0 up. Not sure Nathan Jones will be thanking his god for that.jmjhb wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 4:52 pmCharlton at Wrexham next weekend. John McAtee, the summer's clutch signing, has shown the sum total of bugger all since he's come on.
Again, he's hardly alone. His substitute partner, Klaidi Lolos (another whose versatility, we were told, would make a crucial difference in comparison to last season) has done similarly nothing. Kion Etete, signed as a final January roll of the dice, has at least not looked like a total novice today, but it's made ultimately no difference. And Joel Randall, Evatt's last great white hope, has been similarly pointless.
We wasted an entire summer while Evatt tried to decide whether he wanted to continue or not. We signed the wrong players. We wasted the entire first half of the season giving Evatt chance after chance after chance, despite humiliation after humiliation. We wasted most of January allowing him to sign players who were never going to turn the tide. And only potted him when it was too late for the new boss to make any material changes.
What a shocking season this has been.

Thomasson and Matete best players on the pitch for us today.
These players would be great in teams with 10 grafters.
We've gone and sought out the champagne charlies and it's failed miserably.
Gonna take one hell of a summer to fix this. Don't see us getting out of the League for a long old time.
Sad times.
