We were walloped from all angles. Somebody buy Schumacher a pair of gloves then he can get his hands out of his pockets. We just can't play this sort of football.

I guess nobody saw this coming….truewhite15 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 4:56 pmJohn McAtee, the summer's clutch signing, has shown the sum total of bugger all since he's come on.
Again, he's hardly alone. His substitute partner, Klaidi Lolos (another whose versatility, we were told, would make a crucial difference in comparison to last season) has done similarly nothing. Kion Etete, signed as a final January roll of the dice, has at least not looked like a total novice today, but it's made ultimately no difference. And Joel Randall, Evatt's last great white hope, has been similarly pointless.
We wasted an entire summer while Evatt tried to decide whether he wanted to continue or not. We signed the wrong players. We wasted the entire first half of the season giving Evatt chance after chance after chance, despite humiliation after humiliation. We wasted most of January allowing him to sign players who were never going to turn the tide. And only potted him when it was too late for the new boss to make any material changes.
What a shocking season this has been.

Seriously though it was infuriating watching it in slow motion. It was so obvious what would happen from April last season. I’ve accepted it now but the pain of failure at all levels of the club is one thing. The long term ramifications quite another. I worry we are destined for a permanent stay at this level. Permanent at least in many of our lifetimes. Thus far the club hasn’t shown the know how to escape this league the top end. And now when it’s clear a rebuild will be needed we apparently aren’t in a position to do it. Which is I think concerning. Sharon raised money yet it’s been spent and wasted - I don’t know what the answer is now but I’m concerned that I don’t think she does either.

Never mind lads, you gave it a shot. It's been a tough season. Get yersevles a good rest over the summer and don't listen to all them nasty fans saying you're soft and useless. Chin up, chaps

Bye bye Baxter for me. Poor effort on all those goals today.
Schuey's record of 2 wins in the last 7 is shocking.

Your continuous stream of "I told you so" is worse than the football. Top two is a bit tasty. Wrexham have Charlton up next then travel to Lincoln last day of the season which will be tough. Very tough. Wouldn’t fancy Wrexham if they don’t beat Charlton or at least get a draw next week. But Wycombe have Leyton orient away then Stockport home which are both very though.
Charlton one feels have the momentum but I guess Wrexham ground out a win at Blackpool today.

Yes, congratulations to the players this season. They've done well enough to oust Evatt through a lack of effort (should've happened way sooner) and now they've done well enough to ensure that the season is over.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 5:01 pmNever mind lads, you gave it a shot. It's not nice for the season to peter out in this manner, but it may be what we need. Onto next season.
The end of season awards are going to be a pain for all concerned.
Bring back the positivity. I'm sick of complaining about this lot.

We've lost seven of the last ten at the business end of the season, and now eighteen in total.
Given the outlay, it really is a pathetic return.

Neither was I.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 5:08 pmIt is shocking. When I said didn't expect miracles this season, didn't expect total capitulation either.
Then again, brutal honesty from Schumacher may have just wound a few of them the wrong way and their effort levels are reflecting that. Same with Evatt, he wanted to go and he called them out on poor performances and their efforts suffered.
Regardless of who is manager, the performance levels should be better from those concerned. Collins is a better player than his performances suggest and yet, we're not seeing it. McAtee, likewise. I firmly believe we're in a screw the manager and screw the fans territory. Just like the start of this season.
They're not playing for the shirt. They're playing to get out of the club and get out of this situation.
Rotherham was our last good performance and that was the turning point. Maybe Schuey gave them grief for not scoring. They needed an arm around them and praising for the efforts, it was one of those days. Instead I think he's just annoyed them and the Barnsley capitulation just reflected that.
We've got some good players, but as a collective, we're an abysmal team.

In these circumstances, it's usually a great night for Tim Ream.

If they can't take criticsm they're in the wrong job, bus the fcukers out.
Just to be clear, I'm not talking the sort of abuse from fans, Santos was getting and the horrible shit Kacha used to get. I'm talking the manager setting minimum acceptable standards.

I think that's harsh on the gaffer. He certainly didn't lay into them in public and I doubt someone as level-headed will have done so in private after a game in which we had 36 efforts on goal.Mar wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 5:16 pmRotherham was our last good performance and that was the turning point. Clearly what happened (Barnsley and onwards) was shocking - literally: Schumacher looked stunned on the sidelines at Oakwell. I've said a few times that he seems to be carrying out a full squad audit and man, has he found out.
