A link, albeit not from a watertight source. Lincoln's Sean Roughan. Leftback/centre-back.

For his surname alone, I'm in! We need a few of them.

5ft9. That’s not ideal for a centre back.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 11:51 amA link, albeit not from a watertight source. Lincoln's Sean Roughan. Leftback/centre-back.

No idea if true or not I'm afraid. Saw this article though:

Ruff-an or Row-an? The Sky commentators seemed to think the latter, the other week...
Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
I noticed this guy was out of contract the other day, but assumed we might not get involved due to the compensation owed. Lincoln fans certainly seem to rate him extremely highly.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 11:51 amA link, albeit not from a watertight source. Lincoln's Sean Roughan. Yeah I saw that but sometimes you have to take internet heights with a pinch of salt - one wrong report gets repeated and thus amplified. On the pictures of him I've seen, he doesn't look that short.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 12:07 pm5ft9. Stoke local press naming us in "at least a three-way fight" for Niall Ennis (with Wigan and Blackpool)

I realise every situation is unique, and players should be judged on their own individual merits, but Ennis is the exact type of signing I hoped we would be moving away from, i.e. peak age players unproven above L1 with a transfer fee involved.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 1:03 pmStoke local press naming us in "at least a three-way fight" for Niall Ennis (with Wigan and Blackpool)

Schuey obviously knows and trusts him, which would give me some comfort, but at the same time, his parent club, a bottom-half Championship side, are clearly deeming him not good enough to do a job for them.

I understand the objection, but I'd be happy with Ennis. To me, we need two types of striker: a target man to knit it together and one who plays on the shoulder of the defender and can run in behind (a Dion, if you like). Ennis is the latter. He's also played well for Schuey before (24 in 97 at Plymouth); enthused about him while at Stoke; loaned to Blackpol this season and scored 7 in 19.The_Gun wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 1:40 pmI realise every situation is unique, and players should be judged on their own individual merits, but Ennis is the exact type of signing I hoped we would be moving away from, i.e. peak age players unproven above L1 with a transfer fee involved.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 1:03 pmStoke local press naming us in "at least a three-way fight" for Niall Ennis (with Wigan and Blackpool)

He's not perfect, but I think he'll do a job for us. I also hope we will get others.

I wouldn't take what you see or read on Wiki as gospel, he's grown a bit since then as I'm sure that he's around 6ft, plays LB or CB - not sure about the accuracy of the link, but I suspect that we will be linked with a host of out of contract players on a daily basis.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 12:07 pm5ft9. Aye - I wouldn't be surprised if we're linked with his team-mate Paudie O'ConnorBertie Wooster wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 2:19 pmI wouldn't take what you see or read on Wiki as gospel, he's grown a bit since then as I'm sure that he's around 6ft, plays LB or CB - not sure about the accuracy of the link, but I suspect that we will be linked with a host of out of contract players on a daily basis.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 12:07 pm5ft9. I mean I think that's pretty fair given a quick Google saidBertie Wooster wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 2:19 pmI wouldn't take what you see or read on Wiki as gospel, he's grown a bit since then as I'm sure that he's around 6ft, plays LB or CB - not sure about the accuracy of the link, but I suspect that we will be linked with a host of out of contract players on a daily basis.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 12:07 pm5ft9. Age: 21 years, DOB 31 August 2003, whereas wiki has him 22 and 14 March 2003.
They had Ronan Darcy down at 6ft4 at one point : lol:
Sounds like he's more of an LB anyway. If so that'd be one position sorted, for me..

I don’t use wiki so nothing to do with that and I accept internet heights are misleading sometimes. Though I’ve seen some photos and footage and I’d struggle to convince myself he’s 6ft but 5ft9 - yeah I’d say looks about right.Bertie Wooster wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 2:19 pmI wouldn't take what you see or read on Wiki as gospel, he's grown a bit since then as I'm sure that he's around 6ft, plays LB or CB - not sure about the accuracy of the link, but I suspect that we will be linked with a host of out of contract players on a daily basis.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 12:07 pm5ft9. No matter though it was somewhat tongue in cheek though I would be concerned if going to a back 4 with a 5ft9 centre back tbh as it puts a lot of strain elsewhere - it doesn’t matter if you have a team built of fairly big players like. Allardyce had Charlton there successfully. But if you have Sheehan and Randall and one of your centre halves is 5ft9 - yeah could be a problem.

He’s played vast majority of last season at centre back.Prufrock wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 3:06 pmI mean I think that's pretty fair given a quick Google saidBertie Wooster wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 2:19 pmI wouldn't take what you see or read on Wiki as gospel, he's grown a bit since then as I'm sure that he's around 6ft, plays LB or CB - not sure about the accuracy of the link, but I suspect that we will be linked with a host of out of contract players on a daily basis.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 12:07 pm5ft9.
