Rico gone.
Was the one we built around with Evatt. Might be able to move forward now.

Sorry that it didn't work out for Santos. Think he became the lightning rod for Evatt's tippy tappy. Over the years, a decent player for us.

Santos had three good years here. Last two I think a bit questionable but three good years. And achieved a lot. He was overrated criminally by the last manager and some fans but that is not his fault. It’s a shame I think in some respects he never really had a proper manager because I do think he had the ability to get better and who knows - raw ability all there - big, quick and strong. The stuff you can’t teach he was good at. The stuff you can teach and learn sadly he never got good enough at - and I blame Evatt and his staff for that. Had a warnock or Allardyce or Pulis got hold of him - managers who know how to defend - I think he could have gone a lot further.
Thanks Rico for the good times. I’m pretty sure he will be fixed up somewhere already.

Thanks to Geth too. Probably not his best season to finish (I mean had it been, he probably wouldn't be finishing)... Thanks for the good times.

Proper servant Gethin. He’s clearly struggled the last year or 18 months but I don’t think he let us down many times and it was just time for him to go. I like him a lot and think he gave absolutely everything he had. Still the best crosser of the ball we have/had which clearly needs addressing.

Options have been taken up on young professionals Max Conway, Sonny Sharples-Ahmed, Jack Dallimore and Sean Hogan, with Luke Hutchinson also offered a new deal to remain with the club after making his professional debut this season.
Nine players have been released from the B Team squad, including wing-back Luke Matheson, who has recently been on loan with Alfreton Town.
The former Rochdale and Wolves defender had made seven first team appearances, scoring once, since signing in September 2023.
Ben Andreucci, Trevon Bryan, Harrison Fleury, Noah Halford, Ellis Litherland-Riding, Joseph Toole, Yestin Shakespear and James Westwood have also been released.
Seven of Wanderers’ double-winning Youth Team squad have been offered their first professional deals, with defender Oliver Smith and striker David Abimbola – who finished the season with four first-team appearances – already securing their futures at the club.

No, nothing really shocking in there.
Daughter will be a little disappointed that Bax has gone - she got a pair of keeper gloves for Christmas just gone, he'd signed one, Southwood had signed the other - but Luke was always her favourite keeper out of the two anyway!
Suspect we'll hear a lot more over the next couple of days about those under contract who we're looking to shift on too...

Hope so. It'd be remarkable if they'd all said "we're up for this!" after this season's evidence to the contrarytruewhite15 wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 10:27 amNo, nothing really shocking in there.

Notable lack of thanks directed towards Baxter, which suggests we might not be parting on particularly cordial terms.

Slightly surprised Trevon Bryan has been released, he seemed to be doing OK and was switched up mid-season from a tier-7 to tier-6 loan, and still had two underage years left. But it's a brutal funnel.
Noah Halford is also a shame as for a while he seemed one of the nearest to breaking through - but seems to have slipped backwards, making the opposite mid-term switch this season from tier-6 to tier-7.
As Tango said about Andreucci, I thank anyone who's turned out for the team and wish them good luck, except against us.

Evri also delivered him to us, that's why he arrived in pieces.

He's mentioned 'down the piece' on the website and gets a pic. No separate tweet but to be fair he didn't stay as long or achieve as much as the former captain and vice-captain.

Yeah - I don't think Baxter will be recalled in the same light as Santos and Geth, not a criticism.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 10:40 amHe's mentioned 'down the piece' on the website and gets a pic.
