Re: Rugby Union
Unimpressed. A win is a win, but England under 21s were pretty poor in beating Italy 33-24. Giving penalties away like a department store Father Christmas and still getting hit by running wingers. Hope their big brothers shape better on Sunday.

Re: Rugby Union
Italy and Italian rugby is doing pretty well at the moment, compared to where they've historically been. Since 2022, they've beat Wales 3 times, Scotland, Japan a couple and Austraila. Their problem really, is consistency and despite leaking nearly 80 last week, they still scored 20. Aware that they've never beaten NZ or Englsnd, but have managed the rest, we need to bring the top level of commitment to this game, whilst we're sat at W2, they were both "fine margins" games. France being able to catch or Scotland being able to hit conversions and we'd be sat at W0 and below Italy in the table...

Re: Rugby Union
Another mighty impressive display by France with none of the "fck ups of their own making." France's to lose right now. Need a win today from the boys.

Re: Rugby Union
And a win we got, and a good one against an improved Italy. Good sport weekend all round. 47-24 and some cracking play. The lightweight but ever dangerous Ange Capuozzo is one real speed merchant. Well done.

Re: Rugby Union
Yeah they can certainly score, TD. And decent tries. Glad we came through pretty convincing in the endTANGODANCER wrote: ↑Sun Mar 09, 2025 6:12 pmAnd a win we got, and a good one against an improved Italy. Re: Rugby Union
Wales 14, England 68...and in daffodil land at that. What a cracking game with Curry deservedly M.O.T.M., although Maro Itoje is captain fantastic. Great to see George Ford back in action. The ever dangerous Welsh wouldn't shed any tears for is if the reverse applied, but our defence kept them well in check. Brilliant big-lads rugby. All down to Scotland now....

Re: Rugby Union
35-16. No real shock. There's more chance of nicking (La Giaconda) the Mona Lisa, from The Louvre in Paris than beating the French at Rugby. Even without Dupont they were never going to lose. The Scots played great for nine-tenths of the field, but the French defence was impregnable. A shame, after England's magnificent hammering of the Welsh, but QUE-SERA-SERA, as ever.
Congratulations Messieures .

You say that TD, yet we did manage to beat the French! So, 1 Mona Lisa to us!
The part time New Zealanders? Clearly a step too far!

Lions squad at 13:30. Surely, Pollock gets a ticket? For a 20 year old, he's been exceptional these last few weeks. Everything Marcus isn't.

Looks like a decent squad with "right picks." No real shocks for me. Musta been an interesting call between Andy and Owen.

Great to see Itoze as captain. After the golden years, One of my (inexperienced) all time greats.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Thu May 08, 2025 3:04 pmLooks like a decent squad with "right picks." No real shocks for me. Musta been an interesting call between Andy and Owen.![]()

Owen Farrell seems to have fallen out of favour a bit.

I think Maro had a very good 6 Nations' after a couple maybe not quite up to his very high standard. Owen decided not to play international rugby for his mental health this year. So I can understand him not being in the top 3.

Re: Rugby Union
Aye, we don't always know the real reasons. I must admit I'm surprised George Ford isn't in there though as he and Owen Farrell have piled up quite few kick points between them over time. .Worthy4England wrote: ↑Thu May 08, 2025 5:34 pmI think Maro had a very good 6 Nations' after a couple maybe not quite up to his very high standard.
