Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
Well, there may be options to get excited over...
ROTHERHAM
Have confirmed that DM/CB Hakeem Odoffin will leave after rejecting a deal. The 27-year-old won their supporters' and player's player of the year awards this season. Gaffer Matt Hamshaw: "We're really disappointed that Haks sees his future away from Rotherham, but we also understand it for all the reasons he has detailed in the many discussions we have had about his future."
As I said about him a month ago:
"HAKEEM ODOFFIN (27) 6ft 3in Londoner who was with Spurs as a kid, later Wolves and Northampton, before moving to Scotland with Livingston and Hamilton for 18 months. In summer 2021 he joined third-tier Rotherham and helped them get up, and stay up. Odoffin has also played in defensive midfield. Both he and (Cameron) Humphreys looked likely to leave but may be more tempted to stay under new man Matt Hamshaw."
Turns out Odoffin wasn't, and Humphreys still hasn't signed; four days ago the local paper called those two the 'headline duo' of names the club wanted to tie down.
WYCOMBE
Released: Sam Vokes, Brandon Hanlan, Beryly Lubala and Kieran Sadlier, plus keeper Franco Ravizzoli and left-sider Adam Reach.
Loans ended: Sonny Bradley, Cameron Humphreys, Gideon Kodua, Xavier Simons, Caleb Taylor
Offered deals: Fin Back, Jahiem Dotse, Joe Low, Jack Matton and Laurie Shala.
As Wycombe habitually don't reveal contract lengths, they have also confirmed that players remaining under contract include Tyreeq Bakinson and Matt Butcher, both mentioned up-thread.
Ravizolli's an interesting one - he was their first-choice keeper until January and very popular with fans. Although obviously the Twittersphere will demand the return of Kieran Sadlier....
STOCKPORT
We said above that they probably couldn't recruit again at the scale they did last summer, and they're certainly not releasing many. The only two are Kyle Knoyle - the right-back who should have had a second yellow at our place - and young midfielder Cody Johnson. They've offered extensions to out-of-contract trio Ibou Touray, Fraser Horsfall and Callum Camps and are also in talks with Will Collar and Macauley Southam-Hales.

Fergal Harkin officially started yesterday so no excuse not to have 11 signings by weekend

I saw Goodman playing against Bromley back at the very start of the season. Can't remember anything about him other than that he let in two!

Heheh. I see you did the league double over them... but he did make a decent save against you boys in the cup (at 1'51")...TonyDomingos wrote: ↑Tue May 20, 2025 12:32 pmI saw Goodman playing against Bromley back at the very start of the season. ...and another at Plough Lane (at 2'35") - I'm definitely blaming the defender for the goal conceded

Loaning a keeper from a premiership side would suggest you would probably have to play them…….

Probably, but not definitely. It's vanishingly rare that clubs agree to appearance stipulations.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue May 20, 2025 3:15 pmLoaning a keeper from a premiership side would suggest you would probably have to play them…….
Besides, if these kids play as well as they have this season for the Dons, Donny, Walsall and so on, I'm happy for them to be first choice and Southwood to revert to 'competition'.
Let's face it: we all want another Trafford, or as near as we can get. The fact we've now been linked - and linked at a "Bolton News understands" level, not Twitter tittle-tattle or my forum guesswork

Completely normal, IMO. There's times I barely know who our players are, let alone the other mob.TonyDomingos wrote: ↑Tue May 20, 2025 3:26 pmThanks! I was also at the Cup game, but I still don't remember him!

Back on songs for a mo, Despite spending billions , Man United (currently lying 16th in the Prem) owners are finding Stretford Choral Society's version of "Money can't buy me love" not quite as popular as expected...

Looks like Sharman Lowe (goalkeeper) signing on a season loan from Chelsea according to a few people.

Anyways - both Sharman-Lowe and Owen Goodman have been named in the latest England U21 squad, along with fellow keepers Tommy Simkin (impressive on loan at Walsall from Stoke) and James Beadle, who's a couple of years further along that pipeline, having been lent by Brighton to Crewe then Oxford then Sheffield Wednesday. That's the type of progression the other keepers' clubs will be seeking to copy.

Goodman might be the superior option here based on stats and ‘vibes’. I’d guess there’s a fairly strong chance of the Wombles keeping him if they go up, though.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Fri May 23, 2025 3:21 pm...or possibly TrotChat guessing again, and others going with it...Bertie Wooster wrote: ↑Thu May 22, 2025 2:32 pmLooks like Sharman Lowe (goalkeeper) signing on a season loan from Chelsea according to a few people.![]()

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
Aye possible, as he's an Essex boy on loan from one south London club to another. Also, as has been pointed out, if he stayed at Wimbledon he might be (1) busier and (2) more likely to be No.1.
It might depend on if Chelsea want Sharman-Lowe to vault over the third tier into the second. If not, he could 'stay' at Donny for the same arguments of continuity and, potentially, busyness. (Although it is of course entirely possible we'll concede more shots on goal than Donny or the Wombles...)
Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
There's talks underway in terms of both incomings and outgoings. There will be money to invest in the playing squad this summer.

No not them, time will tell & they may be wrong but he's apparently already signed and it will be announced on 1st June.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Fri May 23, 2025 3:21 pm...or possibly TrotChat guessing again, and others going with it...Bertie Wooster wrote: ↑Thu May 22, 2025 2:32 pmLooks like Sharman Lowe (goalkeeper) signing on a season loan from Chelsea according to a few people.![]()
