Can’t watch that (I’m abroad on me holibobs) but the video I meant was an analytics home-made job. It’s in the tweet I posted. But all the evidence is interesting….Spartan2 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 8:23 pmDon't know if you meant this video:

Question: if we’re playing with proper wingers and a No.9, would you have Randell Williams back?
Meanwhile, the Daily Record - a Scottish newspaper, not a hipster music blog - says we’ve shown Dalby round the stadium and offered him more money than he’d get if he stayed in Scotland.

Bolton Wanderers have made a move to try and land Sam Dalby ahead of their League One rivals.
The Trotters have made their own personal pitch to land the out-of-contract striker.
Bolton had Dalby at the Toughsheet Community Stadium last week as they look to try and land him.
The 25-year-old is also wanted by Blackpool and Wigan Athletic but Bolton are trying to win the fight.
Dundee United have also made their top offer to get Dalby back but the money available in England’s third tier is nearly three times more.
United have Europa Conference League football as well but it is now looking extremely unlikely that Dalby will return.
He has also turned down a new deal at Wrexham.
Dalby is known to want to play regular first-team football and to build on his 15 goal season he had on-loan at United.

I'd have Randell back. Being played as a wide attacker would suit him more than being stuck in at wing back. And it would add a bit of versatility - both wings, up and down the line.

Not for me. Williams has neither the delivery nor the pace I’d like ideally - and is injury prone.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 9:59 pmQuestion: if we’re playing with proper wingers and a No.9, would you have Randell Williams back?

I’d have Dapo or Fossey back for the wide roles though.

Interesting that Matty Jacob’s name surfaces when we’ve been linked with Sean Roughan. It could be that we’ve moved on from our first choice due to cost; or it could be a public show that we would be prepared to do so.
I expect we may see a few loans in (and out) this summer, unless we can find buyers for our unwanted players. Not sure Jacob is the kind of profile to set the heart fluttering, and I’m not sure he’s the sort of signing many fans would like to see supplant (rather than complement) Conway. But it’s early in the piece yet.

Could be Roughan was never that serious a target also?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Jun 03, 2025 9:01 amInteresting that Matty Jacob’s name surfaces when we’ve been linked with Sean Roughan. Aye, also possible.
Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
If I'm not mistaken, Jacob has played as a right-back in the past too

I thought it was Wayne Jacobs at first glance! The man who out performed Sasa
On Williams - I liked him. Thought he was pacey and offered a different kind of threat, including long throws that SS perhaps wouldn't be afraid of utilising but ultimately as Insane says - too injury prone.

interesting - I’ve seen him mentioned as occasional left midfielder and defensive midfielder but overwhelmingly LB. We’ll see though (or not!)

Ha yeah I was there for Wayne Jacobs the ginger Maldini!Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Tue Jun 03, 2025 12:37 pmI thought it was Wayne Jacobs at first glance! The man who out performed Sasa

Randell - prone to injury but also hugely erratic. At his best, too good for this division; at his worst, barely League Two - and he tended to telegraph his poor performances early in the game and never recover. You might as well sub him after 15. Especially when he’s playing wingback and teams would sniff blood.
All that said, I think we could do worse. As with Sadlier but even more so, he never got a chance in his best position. Schumacher might like his pace, directness and versatility - he could for instance fill in at wingback if Schuey, while expected to favour 433, did the sort of midgame switch he tries pleasingly regularly and Evatt considered vanishingly rarely.

Know nowt about him but transfermarkt says he has only ever played LB or defensive mid. I don’t know how accurate that is though given most of that was non league and not sure their positional data is that strong for non league.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Jun 03, 2025 12:47 pminteresting - I’ve seen him mentioned as occasional left midfielder and defensive midfielder but overwhelmingly LB. Stockport captain Fraser Horsfall (28 years old), a top CB, has joined Blackpool on a free transfer after turning down Stockport's offer. I thought he'd be going to the Championship... feels like a missed opportunity if Blackpool were able to tempt him in

Apparently, he loves a stick of rock, so we were never in with a chance.

Still, it would’ve behooved us to give him a shot.TonyDomingos wrote: ↑Tue Jun 03, 2025 10:43 pm

Horsfall? No wonder given all that sand. That's why they use donkeys.
