Yeah, I meant that Schuey would’ve known Ray as a CFO.

I guess he may have just suggested he was someone we might want to interview, and then the bloke’s impressed Sharon et al. I doubt he’s been hired solely based on SS’s recommendation anyway.
I’m sure that’s the case but it would be a concern if for example as Allardyce’s entourage did we were hiring a bunch of people Schumacher knows who would also follow him if he were to leave for whatever reason.

It’s a slightly different scenario for sure. And this guy is not a football appointment so far less a worry in that regard. But one hopes that we are ensuring that if Schumacher was to go the whole structure doesn’t fall apart. After all that is the major supposed benefit of the head coach/sporting director setup.

No idea if it's linked to Ray's apparent departure, but it seems Argyle's year-long negotiations with a potential investor have fallen through.

This was what was alluded to a couple of weeks back. Believe it's essentially a permanent replacement for Neil Hart.

If I'm hearing about it then it's a done deal or as good as.

Not sure if working with Schuey was a factor in his appointment, but important to say (and I'll keep saying this) that when it comes to a football club there's a lot more to run than just the men's first XI!

I doubt most folks think it's just the first XI, even if a lot are more focussed on that element.

Oof! That's at least a yellow; arguably, a straight red.

Sheffield Wednesday didn’t pay their players or staff last Friday, it’s not the first time either under their owner. Players out of contract aren’t signing new deals and other clubs are sniffing around their players and manager. All the best to Wednesday and their fans

I’m still grateful to FV for rescuing our club and I’m happy to have them as responsible and stable owners, long may it continue.

Been a regular occurrence for a couple of years there. Hull having the same issues now. Before their last game of the season when they had to win to stay up, the players and staff weren't paid.

The owner then decided to pay the staff and the players would get paid if they performed. Until they threatened not to play, so he paid them anyhow.

Bit of a nutter by all accounts
