Cup thread for the season.
We now know two of our opponents in the Vertu (Sherpa Van/Pizza) - but not where we play them.

Ooh nice. Hopefully Oldham is away so I can have a nostalgic trip to Boundary park. Hopefully with Hutchinson in nets getting valuable game time.

(Actually epends when it is - first round of group fixtures is w/b Sep 1, but final group fixtures can be as late as mid-November)

Yep. The coldest I've ever been at football although Liverpool in the cup at Burnden runs it close. I did spend one post game at Oldham cowering in a railway tunnel while an array of masonry was chucked down at us. Happy days

Live draw? Does anyone give a shit for Premier U21s? Or is it because the U21s are so excited to get drawn with us?

I'd love to win another trophy. Obviously the FA Cup and League Cup are absolute pipe-dreams, but maybe we can get in a couple of performances worthy of David before the inevitable knock-out.
The FL Trophy could be achievable - Schumacher took Plymouth to the final whilst also winning the league, so I imagine that he wouldn't mind avenging that particular result - but of course I wouldn't trade a cup run for promotion. If we can get a double, then tremendous. They say winning is a habit, and I'd never want us to go into any game with a deep-seated desire to lose it.

They could be in any state by then. Chansiri press release this morning says the prospective buyers never put money down. I wouldn't trust him with a bag of crisps but as noted recently on here they're running out of time and their players will soon be legally able to Josh Magennis it out of there. I believe there are two paydays between now and that cup game...

He seems to want the money as a deposit so he can pay the wages - at least that’s what it sounds like to me.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Thu Jun 26, 2025 4:55 pmThey could be in any state by then. Not an entirely unfamiliar story...BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Jun 26, 2025 5:08 pmHe seems to want the money as a deposit so he can pay the wages - at least that’s what it sounds like to me.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Thu Jun 26, 2025 4:55 pmThey could be in any state by then. Yep. Which is in one way fair enough, and in another symbolic of how in trouble they are.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Jun 26, 2025 5:08 pmHe seems to want the money as a deposit so he can pay the wages - at least that’s what it sounds like to me.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Thu Jun 26, 2025 4:55 pmThey could be in any state by then. Not entirely sure I'd very willingly give a £5m deposit to someone who's obviously skint and has long been at the centre of some very... let's say "widely-questioned financial practices".

Happy with the cup draws. Rotherham's probably the least exciting of the bunch given we're already going to be playing them this season.
Oldham's a great draw given it's a lesser derby of sorts, but still North West based.

Re: Are we up for the cups in 2025/26?
No. Feck the cups and all who play in them. Put the B side out in every one and let HMS PTL set sail, unhindered by pointless matches in front of 3300 fans.
Uma mesa para um, faz favor. Obrigado.
